Wexford and District Womens and Schoolgirls League 09-01-2010

Under Twelve Premier Div
Curracloe United        1          Campile United    1
Both these teams are in contention for the title after they drew one in this exciting premier tie and remain in touch with the leaders. Siobhan Doolan got on the scoresheet for the home side while Grainne Ryan scored for Campile

Bree United    3         North End United     0
Bree moved three points clear at the top of the division when proving too strong for North End, running out three nil winners. The game was more evenly contested than the scoreline suggests but the home side sharpness in front of goal was the difference with Kathlyn Furlong scoring twice and Sophie McCabe scoring one

Glen Celtic      4         Ferns United      0
The home side picked up their third win of the season when overcoming a battling Ferns side four nil and remain just behind the leaders

Under Twelve Division One
Shelbourne      2         Forth Celtic    0  
This match was played on Wednesday and after a dogged battle the home side came out two nil winners to move top of the table and with results going their way on Saturday, they remained there. Hannah Keating and Shauna Wall were the scorers in a game where the home side just did enough to take the three points

Bunclody AFC    1   Killenagh Wan    0
In one of the big matches of the day, Bunclody moved into contention for the title when beating leaders Killenagh by a solitary goal. In a very closely contested match, a goal from Ava Slye was the difference between the two sides

St Josephs       5         Tombrack United    3
Both these relegation threatened sides fielded understrenght teams and it was the home side who came out on top after a high scoring tussle. Rachel Creane, Aisling O Rourke and Mairead O Rourke all scored for Tombrack but two goals each from Pamela Walsh and Molly Carleton and one from Niamh O Connor gave the home side a valuable three points

Under Twelve Division Two A
Ballindaggin    1          St Leonards     1
Leaders St Leonards had to battle hard to get a point from this match in Ballindaggin who put in one of her best performances of the season. Muireann Kehoe scored for the Ballycullane side but a Sinead Nolan goal salvaged a point for the home side

Fastnet Rovers            2          Moyne Rangers     3
Aoife MacCrea scored two and Aideen Byrne scored one as Moyne travelled to Fastnet and picked up all three points in a three two win

Under Twelve Division Two B
All Blacks       2          Gorey Celtic     7
Gorey Celtic moved into second place in this division when making the long journey to All Blacks and returning with all three points. Emily Coakley scored two for the home side but a hat trick from Amy Wilson, two goals from Orla Crowe and one each from Amy Power and Deibheann Yeates gave Celtic the win

Bree United B    1          Bridge Rovers    3
Two goals from Becky Carter and one from Shannon Murphy gave Bridge Rovers a vital win away to Bree second team and keeps them in contention for the title. Emma Byrne was on target for the home side

Rosslare Rangers         4          St Leonards B    1
Rosslare Rangers picked up their first win of the season against fellow strugglers St Leonards second team and put in their best performance to date in this four one win. Caoimhe Mckeon scored a hat trick with Kayleigh Butler sdding one while a Rangers defender scored an own goal for the visitors

Seaview United          0          Kilmore United    3
Leaders Kilmore United picked up a very valuable three points when they travelled to second place Seaview and came away three nil winners. Cora Miller scored twice with Becky Furlong also scoring in a game where Kilmore only took control in the final ten minutes but now move clear at the top of the table

Courtown Hibs B        5          Cloughbawn    0
The top half of the table in this division is very tight and the home side moved themselves into a promotion challenging spot after this five nil win over bottom club Cloughbawn. Niamh Territt scored a hat trick to add to goals from Kim Burgess and Catherine McDonald

Forth Celtic B    4          New Ross Town     1
New Ross fell to their first defeat when travelling to Forth Celtic and lost four one with the home side moving top of the table. Leah Arnold scored for Town while Jodi Rochford, Aine Maher, Peig Busher O Sullivan and Phillipa Breslin all scored for Forth

Shelbourne B     9         St Josephs B     1
The home side moved to within two points of the leaders when proving way too strong for a young St Josephs second team. Hannah Keating scored four, Kate Murphy knocked in a hat trick while Kelly O Rourke and Aoife Murphy grabbed one each

Adamstown    3          Camolin Celtic      13
Amy Kelly scored a personal tally of six as Camolin continued their good start to their under twelve season against a very young Adamstown side who finished well. As well as Amy, Camolin had scorers in Jenny Larkin, three, Aoife Curran, two, and one each from Chloe Ronan and Rebecca Doran. Adamstown scored through Michaella Miskella, Tara Doyle and Emer Manning

Corach Ramblers         4          Wexford Celtic     0
Corach picked up their third win of the season when overcoming new club Wexford Celtic four nil to sit just behind the leaders. Jane Rossiter scored a hat trick while Caitlin Culleton also scored

Under Sixteen Premier Division
Curracloe United        6          St Cormacs      1
The home side continued their push for the under sixteen premier title when proving too strong for St Cormacs running out six one winners. Rianna Jarrett scored a hat trick, Julie Coakley added two and Laura Ross scored one while Amy Walsh scored a penalty for the visitors

St Josephs       1        Shelbourne     6
Shelbourne made it four wins from four games when overcoming St Josephs six one and remain deadlocked with Curracloe at the top of the table. Leona Breen scored a hat trick to add to goals from Tara Kennedy, Gina Foley and Siobhan Grant Moorehead while Megan O Reilly scored for the home side

Under Sixteen Division One
Adamstown    1          Seaview United     0
This match between two title contenders saw the home side eventually take the three points to give them their fourth win in a row and move top of the table. Hayley White scored the only goal of a very closely contested match

Castledockrell United   2          Bree United     3
This five goal thriller saw Bree eventually overcome bottom club Castledockrell who will feel unlucky not to have taken something from this match. Ciara McKelvie scored twice for Bree with Chloe Morrissey also finding the net while Shauna Lacey and Katie Atkinson scored for the home side

Kilmore United           1          North End United     7
North End moved second in the division when travelling to Kilmore and coming away as comfortable seven one winners. The home side took the lead through Maria Byrne but two goals each from Thomashina Conway and Jessica Beary and one each from Zara Byrne, Danielle Kehoe and Mary Carroll saw North End head home with all three points

Under Sixteen Division Two
Forth Celtic     8         Tombrack United      1
Tombrack had no answer to the firepower of the home side and Ciara Rossiter in particular who scored four as Forth ran out comfortable eight one winners. Chloe Fox, Eimear Doherty, Jackilynn Breslin and Aoife Rossiter all added one each while Bridin O Rourke scored for the visitors

Rosslare Rangers         5          Courtown Hibs     9
Courtown Hibs picked up their first win of the season in this high scoring entertaining encounter against Rosslare Rangers who showed massive improvement on their previous performances. Roberta Butler scored two for Rangers with Sarah Walsh, Liz Connors and Hazel Walsh all scoring for the home side

Womens Premier Division
Adamstown    1          Curracloe United        2
Curracloe remain top of the Premier division after they came away from Adamsown with all three points in what was the top game of the day in the division. Sandra Thorpe scored for the home side but goals from Laura Corrigan and Tara Moloney gave the visitors a vital three points but they do have their goalie Charlotte McCormack to thank as she pulled off some vital saves to keep the home side at bay

Kilmore United           1          Bunclody AFC           2
Title challengers Bunclody had to draw on all their experience to come away from bottom club Kilmore with all the points as the home side put up their best performance of the season to date. Lisa Lacey put Kilmore ahead but Grace Fanning levelled with a penalty just before half time and scored again in the second half to give a very relieved Bunclody side a very important win

North End United       1          Ferns United   8
Ferns coninue to keep in touch with the leaders after taking all three points in a comfortable fashion against a young North End side. Martina Pender scored for the home side but a hat rick from Rachel Collier, two goals each from Liz Everedd and Josie Dwyer and one from Ali Everedd gave Ferns victory

Killenagh Wan            0          Benfica            9
Benfica made the long journey to Killenagh a worth while one when overcoming  the home side by nine clear goals, probably the first team ever to inflict such a defeat on the home side. Cherelle Kessei scored a hat trick, Brianne O Connor added a brace while Stephanie Hallahan, Clare Conlon, Rachel Hutchinson and Beserta Arjeti all scored one each

Womens Division One
St Cormacs      6          Slaney Rovers 5
In one of the most incredible games played in the league in recent times, title challengers St Cormacs were exremely relieved to come out of this game with three points after trailing all the way up to the final ten minutes. The Rathvilly women were always in control with Catherine Dempsey scoring four to add to one from Carol McGrath but St Cormacs kept in touch through Amy Walsh with two, and one each from Caitriona Roban, Bernie McCarthy and Stacey Redmond and minutes from the end Michelle Darcy knocked home what proved to be the winner

Seaview United          4          All Blacks       0
The home side remain unbeaten and top of division one after proving too strong for All Blacks with the goals coming from Sadie Murphy, Sonja Maurphy, Catherine Doyle and Brid Doyle. All Blacks had their chances to score but Seaview kept them at bay and eventually took control of the game to run out comfortable winners

Coolgreaney Celtic     8          St Josephs       0
The home side remain well in contention for at least promotion as they continue to close in on the leaders after this big win over St Josephs. Goals from Audrey Whitty, Karen Morris, Maeve Hughes, Sarah Merrigan, Deirdre Healy and a hat trick from Helen Clare gave the home side victory.

Tramore FC     v          Ferns United B
Tramore collected a handier than expected three points when Ferns United second squad were unable to field a team to travel

Womens Division Two A
Corach Ramblers         2          Tombrack United        1
Martina Ivory gave Tombrack an early lead in this relegation battle but Ramblers battled back into the game and were rewarded with goals from Ciara Roche and Kathy Diskin which gave them victory

Taghmon United         0          Fastnet Rovers            2
Fastnet have done enough to pull themselves away from the relegation zone when travelling to Taghmon and taking all three points. Goals from Leanne Cullen and Niamh Crosbie gave Rovers a very important victory in their quest for survival in this division

Shelbourne      3          Arklow United            1
The big match of the day in this division saw Shelbourne have to battle hard to eventually take the points and move an incredible sixteen points clear at the top of the table. Angie Westnott put the home side ahead but Michelle Scanlon levelled for Arklow early in the second half as Shelbourne found Amy Devereux in the Arklow goal difficult to get past. Eventually they did break through and goals from Marcella Cullen and Tara Kennedy gave the home side the points that put them on the verge of lifting their first adult league title

Forth look to be the only team with any realistic possibility of catching leaders Shelbourne after picking up the points in this vital win at Sinnotstown Lane. Caoimhe Dunne scored one with Ciara Rossiter capping off a very good week with two goals

Womens Division Two B
Moyne Rangers           0          Shilelagh United         7
Shilelagh made it seven wins from seven games as they proved too strong for Moyne and knocked in seven without reply. Edel Kennedy scored four, Elaine Murphy, two and one from Fiona Byrne to give the Wicklow side all three points

Cloughbawn    0          Rosslare Rangers         9
Rosslare Rangers were far too strong for Cloughbawn in this league tie with Bobbi Doyle scoring five, Shannon O Brien added two with Aine O Connell and Shauna Fitzpatrick scoring one each

Courtown Hibs           0          New Ross Town         3
New Ross Town kept the pressure on leaders and remain unbeaten when travelling to Courtown and coming away with the points. Yvonne O Neill scored two with Jenny White adding the third
