Results 22nd 23rd January

Wexford and District Womens and Schoolgirls League 16-01-2011

Under Ten Premier Division
Curracloe moved clear at the top of the under ten premier division when proving too good for fellow title challengers Ballindaggin in a windy Curracloe on Saturday afternoon. Goals from Sarah Harding Kenny, Sarah Siggins and Cara Lacey gave the home side a three nil win. Fastnet Rovers kept in touch with a four two win over Campile and moved into a second place. Michelle Kinsella and Cassie Healy Baker scored for Campile but two goals from Anne Marie Bennett and one each from Claire McGee and Rachel Bennett gave Rovers the three points

Under Ten Division One
Kilmore and Shelbourne are locked together at the top of division one after they both picked up wins on Saturday morning against Forth Celtic and Seaview United respectively. Kilmore won nine nil thanks to two goals each from Niamh Cassidy, Emily Bates and Sophie Boxwell plus one each from Kira Bates Crosbie, Abby Troy and Amy cousins gave them a comfortable nine nil win. Shelbourne won six one in Seaview with Hannah Keating scoring an incredible five while Niamh Kehoe also found the net

Under Ten Division Two A / Two B / Three
Only one game survived in each of the lower three divisions with the best game being Corach Ramblers beating Moyne Rangers three two in Two A. Two goals from Jane Rossiter and one from Aimee Fleming had Ramblers had three nil ahead before Moyne found their scoring boots and pulled two back through Sinead Morrisey and Eimear Byrne but Ramblers held of for three two win. Gorey Celtic made it five wins from five games when travelling to All Blacks and winning ten one with Amy Wilson scoring six while Caragh Clarke, Paige Tanner, Eabha Cahill and Amber Donoghue scored one each. Emily Coakley scored a consolation goal for the home side. In Division Three Taghmon United travelled to a very young Campile United second team and won six nil to go joint top of the division. Great credit must go to the Campile side who comprise mainly of seven and eight year olds but are enjoying their first season in schoolgirls soccer.

Under Fourteen League
Only three games survived the weather in the under fourteen league with Curracloe and Ferns playing out a two all draw in the premier division. Yvonne Murphy and Aoife McClean scored for Ferns while Siobhan Doolan scored for the home side. In Division Two Glen Celtic travelled to Ballindaggin and came away with five one winners with Noleen Shanahan, Amy Banville, Alice Mahon, Aoife Parker and Rianna Cullen while Shannon Casey scored for the home side. St Leonards and Taghmon shared the points in a one all draw with Sarah Banville giving Taghmon a one nil lead before Danielle Byrne scoring an equaliser for the home side

Under Eighteen League
Benfica made it three wins from three games when proving too strong for Curracloe and running out eight one winners thanks to goals from Niamh Condon, Beserta Arjeti, Kerry Rochford, Maria Delahunty while Grainne Flood and Becky Conroy scored two each, Clara Donnelly scored for Curracloe

Wexford Cup First Round
Seaview United made it through to a second round meeting with Tramore when proving too strong for division two B leaders Shilelagh United and winning six one. Catherine Doyle, Sadie Murphy, Aisling Murphy, Stephanie Foley, Brid Kehoe and Sandra Dunne all got on the scoresheet for the home side while Elaine Murphy scored for Shilelagh in the six one win.
Leanne O Reilly scored all four for Kilmore United as they travelled to Rosslare Strand and came away four nil winners and go through to meet Cloughbawn in round two.

Wexford Cup Second Round
Castledockrell United and New Ross Town produced a cracking cup tie before Town eventually went through four three with Jenny White and Jo Murphy scoring two each for the winners while Kelly Ann Muphy scored two for the home side with Denise Kearns adding the third. Shelbourne moved into the last sixteen when eventually breaking down a stubborn Tombrack five one with Siobhan Grant Moorehead and Marcella Cullen scoring two each while Leona Breen scored one with Chloe Kenny scoring for the home side. Goals from Kate Cullen and Louise Molloy gave Enniscorthy Town a two nil win over a battling Wexford Celtic side. Bunclody were too good for Arklow United and progressed through to the last sixteen with a six nil win thanks to two goals from Marian Doyle and one each from Tracey Nolan, Jessica Martin, Celine Slye and Elaine Casey. Adamstown were ten one winners over Glen Celtic with Laura Hickey scoring four, Sandra Thorpe and Nikki Dunphy added two each while Geraldine Thorpe and Louise Stafford scored one each. Lorraine o Connor scored for Celtic. St Cormacs were too strong for an understrength Corach Ramblers and won nine nil thanks to a hat trick from Bernie McCarthy, two goals from Amy Walsh and one each from Noelle Jordan, Niamh o Connor, Sarah Murphy and Michelle Gahan
