Wexford Womens Reports 22-11-2015

Women Premier Division
Killenagh Wan 0  Seaview United 0
These two sides played out a hard fought draw and show that even though they are both in the lower half of the premier division, the standard at this level is very high. Defences and goalkeepers dominated with the home keeper in particular denying the Seaview forwards on several occasions.

Benfica LFC 5  East End United  2
The home side have opened a five point lead at the top of the table and have more or less ended East End’s hopes of retaining their premier title. Rebecca Walsh and Jenny Reddy scored for the visitors but goals from Lisa Dower (2), Becky Conroy, Sharon Brown and Andrea Holmes gave Benfica all three points

Women Division One

Curracloe bounced back from last weeks defeat to Adamstown to join them at the top of the table when proving too strong for All Blacks. The game was closer than the scoreline suggests but the visitors were full value for their victory with Rihanna Cullen, Siobhan Doolan, Roisin Doolan and Clara Donnelly all finding the net

Town eased their relegation worries slightly when overcoming a battling St Leonards by a six goal margin although it was the home sides ability to take their chances was the main difference between the sides. Ann Carroll (2), Linda Kelly (2), Aoife Nugent and Sinead Ryan were all on target for the home side.

Bree remain well in contention for promotion after this win away to a very young and very understrength Bunclody side. Claire Sheehan, Shonagh Spratt Murphy, Ciara McKelvie and Lauren Sinnott gave Bree a comfortable win

Cloughbawn AFC 7  Moyne Rangers 1
Cloughbawn also enjoyed a comfortable win as Moyne continue to struggle for numbers and the home side ran out 7-1 winners. Siobhan Grant Moorehead scored for Moyne but goals from Lisa Marie Doyle (4) and Amy Banville (3) moved the home side into contention for promotion

Corach Ramblers 7  Camolin Celtic  1
Ramblers are looking hot favourites to win this division when they proved much too strong for second placed Camolin and unless they collapse in the second half of the season, they should do enough to clinch the title. Goals from Sara Byrne (3), Nellie Walsh, Triona Sinnott, Nicole Sinnott and Ollie Scott gave them victory

St Josephs  0  Piltown FC  1
Piltown made the long journey to Kilmuckridge and after a tough battle, they eventually left with a three points that moves them into contention for a top two spot. Lisa McCarthy scored the all important goal that gave the South Kilkenny side their third win of the season

These two sides were missing several key players for various reasons but still managed to produce a hard fought exciting encounter. Chloe Hayden Doyle put Tombrack ahead midway through the first half with Laura Barry equalising for Rangers ten minutes later

Ajax Athletic 1  Stoney LFC  3
Chloe Foxe scored all three goals for Stoney who recorded their second win of the season to move out of the bottom two and are showing improvement with every game although Ajax will feel unlucky not to have got something from this game

Cloughbawn AFC “B”  4  Seaview United “B”  2
The home side remain second in the table after a 4-2 victory over Seaview United second team. Gina Foley was the heroine for Cloughbawn as she scored all four of their goals to give them their sixth win of the season

Courtown Hibs  1  Bridge Rovers  0
Courtown Hibs remain top of the division after a hard earned win over a young Bridge Rovers side. Danielle Kenny scored the only goal of a very closely contested encounter.

Fastnet Rovers  4  St Cormacs 1
Helen Cousins scored for St Cormacs but Fastnet proved too strong on the day and took all three points thanks to goals from Joanne Jordan (2), Annie Breen and Lorraine Breen gave Rovers their fourth win of the season

Ballindaggin are looking favourites to lift their first ever under ten title after this comfortable win away to Kilmore United. Goals from Cerys Fortune, Carla Cloney (2), Leah Roban (3) and Emily Roban gave the visitors their third win of the season

Courtown Hibs 3 Curracloe United 5
These two young sides played out an eight goal thriller before Curracloe eventually left with the three points and keep their title ambitions alive. Leah Gammell (2) and Rebecca Hughes were on target for Hibs while goals from Polly Redmond (2), Caoimhe Whelan (2) and Emma Cullen kept the visitors top of the table

Kate Harpur was on target for Corach but it was not  enough against an impressive Taghmon side who recorded their fourth win of the season and will be competing for the division one title in the second half of the season. Caoimhe Breen (4) and Rachel Hussey scored the vital goals for the home side.

This incredible game is probably one of the highest scoring under ten games ever, averaging a goal every two minutes before Seaview eventually took all three points. Sally Kehoe (5), Abbie Malone (2) and an own goal made up the home sides tally while Cora Foley (5), Eimear Kehoe (5), Marie McDonald and Kirsty Cheevers gave Seaview the points

Youths completed the first half of their season unbeaten with a comfortable 4-1 win over Bridge Rovers that secures them a place in the division one title race. Amy Redmond scored for Rovers but goals from Sioha Kotin (2), Alana Lambert and Cliona Moore gave the home side victory

Gorey Rangers are looking impressive in this division as they travelled to Bunclody and came away comfortable 5-1 winners with Mia Dunne on target for the home side

The home side moved third in the table after this win over Ballindaggin second team. Keelin Hipwell was on target for the visitors but goals from Michaela Tobin Cosgrave and Leanne Walsh gave Tombrack  all three points

Town have moved top of the table after overcoming fellow challengers Bree 5-2 in Good Counsel College on Saturday. Aoife Fortune and Aoibh Duggan scored for Bree but Ella Nolan (4) and Emma Rossiter were on target to give the home side all three points

Cloughbawn moved third in the table after a hard earned win over a battling Cushinstown side who will feel disappointed not to have taken at least a point from this game. Abbie Gaffney scored for the home side but Jenna and Jade Conroy scored to give Cloughbawn a vital victory

Cloughbawn continued their good form at national level when they overcame Evergreen 3-2 to book their place the quarter finals of the FAI Under Fourteen Cup. Faye Larkin, Laura Butler and Heather Walsh were all on target for the visitors against a very well organised Kilkenny side.

Kilmore collected their first three points of the season when overcoming St Leonards 6-1 with Sophie Boxwell (3), Aimee Bates Crosbie (2) and Kira Bates Crosbie all on target for the winners.

Cloughbawn will be delighted with this result as their closest challengers played out a 1-1 draw which keeps both sides well behind the leaders. Rebecca Fanning scored for Curracloe while Katie Bates was on target to ear Ballindaggin a point

Wexford Youths remain in contention in the division after this 3-0 win away to New Ross Celtic. Nadine Fortune (2) and Ciara Boland scored the all important goals for the winners

A goal each from Aisling Waters, Niamh Millar and Rebecca Holmes set Corach Ramblers well on the way to their second win of the season with Grace Donovan netting a hat trick to give them a 6-0 win over a young Taghmon side.

Douglas Hall made the long journey from Cork and had to work very hard before eventually overcoming a determined home side who did the league proud with their level of performance. Dearbhla Doyle was on target for Curracloe but goals from Ali McCormack and Michelle O Driscoll put the visitors through to the semi finals
