Campile United played out a very exciting tie at home to Kilmore United before
eventually running out 5-3 winners. Campile led 3-0 midway through the first
half but Kilmore showed their fighting spirit and pulled the scoreline back to
3-3 before the break and it took a strong second half by the home side to
clinch the three points. Kira Bates Crosbie (2) and Sophie Boxwell were on target
for the visitors while Kathryn Dempsey (3), Eadaoin Kent and Kate Folly scored
the vital goals for Campile. Ballindaggin kept alive their title ambitions when
they travelled to Cloughbawn and came away 2-0 winners thanks to goals from
Niamh McHugh and Orlagh Kehoe.

Return of
Gaynor Cup
Next Sunday
will see the return of one of the leagues oldest competitions when the cup for
the bottom four teams in the lowest division is revived. The Gaynor Cup was
always one of the leagues most sought after trophies and its return will give
some of the lesser successful clubs an opportunity to pick up some silverware.
It was last played for in this format in 1997 when Tombrack United were the
victors before the cup was changed to a divisional cup for division two sides.
It was last played for in 2001 and was won by St Cormacs before being replaced
by the Boland Carpets Cup
