Fixtures and Results 11-11-2012

Wexford and District Womens and Schoolgirls League 11-11-2012

Under Ten Premier Division
A closely contested two one win over Ballindaggin saw Campile United move to the top of the table two points clear of Curracloe. Amy Ennis was on target twice for Campile while Aoife o Leary scored for Ballindaggin. Meanwhile, Kilmore remain in contention with a three one win over Moyne with Aimee Bates Crosbie scoring a hat trick for the seasiders

Under Ten Division Two A
St Leonards and Shelburne are deadlocked on top of this division as both recorded wins away to St Josephs and home to Taghmon respectively. Cora Banville and Hannah Kehoe scored for Taghmon but a Katie Murphy hat trick and a goal from Jemma Martin gave Shelburne a four two home win. St Leonards travelled to Kilmuckridge and proved too strong for a young home side and ran out comfortable winners. Four goals each from Clodagh Foran and  Lauren Roche and one each from Eabha Cullen and Aoife Cullen saw them well in control. In the other game in this division, a Shannon Doyle goal moved All Blacks into contention as they beat Killenagh Wanderers one nil

Under Ten Division Two B
Rosslare Rangers are looking very impressive in this division as they overcame challengers Enniscorthy Town six nil to record their third win in a row. Bobbi Culleton, Ciara Rees, Caoimhe Hill and Regan Fenlon all scoring one each while Zoe scored two. Adamstown overcame New Ross Town three two with Isabelle Herbert scoring a hat trick for the winners while Cira Langton scored twice for the winners. In the other game, Teresa Keating scored for Corach Ramblers as they overcame Cloughbawn one nil

Under Fourteen Premier Division
Bree are still top of this division despite being defeated heavily by Curracloe United on Saturday. Kilmore also remain in contention as they overcame Killenagh four nil thanks to two goals from Cora Miller and one each from Isobelle O Neill and Aine Maher

Under Fourteen Division One
Moyne Rangers moved joint top of the table with Ballindaggin and Seaview United after travelling to St Leonards and winning four nil thanks to two goals from Megan Dobbs and one each from Shauna Kane and Gina Murphy. Seaview overcame St Josephs by three goals to one with Emma Behan, Kayleigh Shannon and Amy O Grady all on target for the visitors while Niamh O Connor scored for the home side

Under Fourteen Division Two A
Only one point divide the top four in this division and looks like its going to go all the way to the final day to decide a winner. Campile United and Bridge Rovers played out an exciting scoreless draw while North End travelled to Rosslare Rangers and came away six three winners. Leah Cheung scored two for Rangers and Caoimhe McLeon added one but two goals from Natasha Byrne and one each from Rebecca Ennis, Alannah Anglim, Chelsey Pitman and Stacey O Farrell gave the Wexford town side all three points. Gorey Celtic travelled to Rathnure and came away with all three points courtesy of a five nil win with Amy Wilson scoring four and Ciara Hammell adding one

Under Fourteen Division Two B
Fastnet Rovers are looking very impressive in this division and proved far too strong for a young Tombrack side running out comfortable winners. Annmarie Bennett scored four with her twin sister Rachel adding two as did Claire McGee while Orla Brennan and Ellie diskin added one each. All Blacks received an easy three points when New Ross Town failed to turn up for their fixture while Wexford Celtic came away from Enniscorthy Town five nil winners. Katie Bergin and Ciara Rochford scored two each with Orla Neiland also finding the net

Under Eighteen League
Seaview lead the under eighteen league with three wins from three games when they overcame Killenagh Wanderers two one in a very hard fought encounter. Georgina Creane scored for Killenagh but goals from Leanne Foley and Cora Cullen gave Seaview all three points. Cloughbawn moved second after a three nil win in St Leonards thanks to two goals from Gina Foley and one from Kate Cullen. North End recorded a five two win over Ferns United to pick up their first three points of the season with Sara Byrne and Zoe Doyle scoring two each while Danielle Kehoe also scored with Leona Breen scoring twice for Ferns

Womens Premier Division
Adamstown    1          Tramore FC     5
Tramore have edged clear at the top of the premier division after a comfortable win in Adamstown. Chantelle Martin scored for the depleted home side but two goals from Orla Hickey and one each from Niamh Walsh, Vanessa Ogbonna and Rosie Flynn gave the visitors their sixth win of the season

Seaview United          2          Benfica            1
Seaview took the lead in this match through a Brid Doyle penalty before some constant pressure from Benfica paid off and they equalised through Stephanie Hallahan. However a second half goal from Jane Banville gave Seaview a very important three points in the relegation dogfight that involves all the teams apart from the top two

Coolgreaney Celtic     1          Cloughbawn    2
Cloughbawn did their relegation worries a lot of good as they travelled to Coolgreaney and eventually came with all three points. Karen Morris was on target for Celtic but goals from Mary Tyrell and Siobhan Grant Moorehead gave the visitors a very important victory

Womens Division One A
Enniscorthy Town       2          Kilmore United           5
Kilmore moved joint top of what is a very competitive division as they inflicted the first defeat of the season on Enniscorthy Town. Bridget McDonald scored two for Town but a hat trick from Jasmine Redmond and two goals from Katrina Parrock gave Kilmore a very important victory

Curracloe United        2          Killenagh Wanderers  2
These two sides are well in contention for the title but had to settle for a point each in this exciting two all draw. Clare Halvey and Roisin O Connor were on target for Wanderers while Amy Banville and Noleen Shanahan were on target for Curracloe

North End United       5          Wexford Celtic           1
A Leanne O Reilly set the home side well on the road to victory in this local derby and gave North Ends season a badly needed boost away from the lower regions of the table and into title contention. Sara Byrne and Martina Pender were also on target for the home side while Janice Frost scored for Celtic

Womens Division One B
Glen Celtic      6          Fastnet Rovers            1
Celtic currently top the table after this comprehensive win over a young Fastnet side who are currently in the process of rebuilding their squad. Katie Sludds scored a hat trick while Michelle Darcy scored two and Emma O Neill added one while Joanne Jordan scored for Rovers. Katie Sludds rounded off an interesting day when she found herself being sent off for two yellow cards, reducing the home side to ten players for the latter stages of the game

Corach Ramblers         2          St Josephs       2
These two sides played out an exciting two all draw which keeps them both in the hunt for promotion. Tracey McCormack and Aoife Kavanagh were on target for the visitors while Shannon McDonald and Ciara Roche scored for Ramblers

Womens Division Two A
Taghmon United         1          Moyne Rangers           1
These two sides are in a battle against relegation but did not do themselves any favours as they had to settle for a point each. Becky Doyle was on target for Taghmon while Ciara Tobin scored for Moyne

Womens Division Two B
Castledockrell United 11        Campile United           0
Castledockrell are looking unstoppable in this division as they ran out comfortable winners over Campile, knocking in eleven without reply. Caitriona Murray scored four  while Ellen Kelly added a hat trick and Cait Doyle and Shauna Brennan scored two each

Rosslare Strand           2          Camolin Celtic            2
These two sides are well in contention for promotion with Strand just edging into second place after this two all draw. Niamh O Leary and Megan Murray were on target for Celtic while Sinead Fitzpatrick and Ania Blachon scored for Strand

Cushinstown   1          Bree United    0
An Amie Gaffney free kick in the second half was enough to break the deadlock in what was a very close and exciting match where Bree created several chances but could not find the net and ultimately paid the price for those missed chances.

Congratulations
The league would like to congratulate former league Secretary and Treasurer Brian Furlong and his partner Samantha Bolger who tied the knot last Friday. Brian, or Junior as he is more commonly known, has been involved at committee level with the womens league for many years and of course, is a familiar sight on the sideline as a manager or coach with several of the Kilmore United sides. We wish Brian and Samantha the very best of luck and a long and happy life together and with their sons Oisin and Fiachra
