The qualifiers will be representing the league in the Leinster blitz and if succesful there, will qualify for the National final on October 13th in Dublin so ensure your club can fulfil these obligations before entering.

League Kicks Off next Sunday
Next Sunday will see the Wexford Womens League kick off for what promises to be another exciting and closely contested season. With St Cormacs withdrawing from the premier division, seven teams will compete this season instead of the usual eight which means there will be only one team relegated at the end of the season. Champions Tramore will still look the team to beat although they have lost three players to Wexford Youths Women which will surely have an impact. Last season Ferns were their most serious challengers and it looks like they will be this year as well and as they have much the same squad, they could actually be the team to beat. Adamstown continue to grow as a team and could cause some problems fort he bigger sides but still not sure if they are ready to be able to challenge for the title but without doubt they will be in the running. Seaview United are another side capable of causing problems for the challengers although they need more consistency to launch any sort of serious challenge for the title themselves. Benfica just about survived last season as they lost a load of players but a run of form late in the season saw them do just enough to avoid relegation. Some of their players have moved to Australia for this season so once again they need to rebuild and it will all depend on how quick they can do it will have a big bearing on where they finish. Cloughbawn have taken the place of Shelburne in the top flight after an exodus of their players moved to the Clonroche based side which resulted in the demise of the Ballywilliam side in womens soccer. It will be difficult to gauge how they will do at this level and the upheavel during the summer will be bound to have had an impact so it will depend on how quick to settle into life in the top flight. Coolgreaney Celtic are also promoted and will be hoping to get a good start to ensure survival in the top division but its their away form could let them down as they are unfortunate that the division contains several south county teams as well as the two Waterford sides.
Division One A will be wide open this season with almost all the sides competeing capable of lifting the title and it is impossible to guess who will be the main challenger. However North End and Killenagh could be the teams best prepared for the challenge for the two promotion spots while Curracloe and Kilmore United will always be in contention
Division One B also looks to be a closely contested division with Corach Ramblers and New Ross Town looking sharp in pre season while Glen Celtic and St Josephs wont be far away.
Division Two A will see All Blacks and Rosslare Rangers start as early favourites while Division Two B will see Camolin Celtic and Bree United start as teams most likely to be in contention for the title.

FAI Senior Womens Cup Semi Final
Next Saturday evening will see Wexford Youths Women travel to Morton Stadium in Santry to take on Raheny United in the semi final of the FAI Senior Cup for what promises to be a very interesting cup tie. In the three league matches played last season between the sides, there was very little between the teams as they drew twice and Raheny edged a three two victory in Ferrycarrig. Raheny finished second in the league last season and are unbeaten so far this season and would be considered Peamount Uniteds most serious challengers for the title. Ironically, both sides have reached this semi final without kicking a ball, as they qualified for the quarter finals courtesy of their top four finish in the league and then both received walkovers. Raheny were given a walkover by Castlebar Celtic while Wexford were given an easy passage through by Raheny Uniteds second string when they withdrew from the competition. Wexford travelled to the AUL on Sunday for a friendly against the Republic of Ireland Under Nineteen squad and came out one nil winners thanks to a goal from Ciara Rossiter which sets the Wexford girls up nicely for Sundays semi final. While the FAI Cup does not carry the prestige it once did, it would still be nice to get to the final and an opportunity to lift the first national womens trophy. The game on Saturday kicks off on Saturday at 7-30pm and the girls would appreciate your support on the night
