Wexford and District Women’s and Schoolgirls League 18-09-2016

Under Twelve Premier Division
Courtown Hibs          3          Ballindaggin               3
This division promises to be very competitive this season and showed this when both opening games were draws. Courtown and Ballindaggin produced an outstanding encounter with Sasha Greene (2) and Hanna Redmond on target for Hibs while Niamh Doyle and Ana Roban (2) finding the net for Ballindaggin

St Leonards    1          Seaview United         1
These two local rivals also produced a thrilling game which also ended in a draw. Abby Whitty scored the goal for the home side with Sophie Doyle scoring to earn Seaview a points

Under Twelve Division One
Moyne Rangers         0          North End United     9
A very strong North End side proved too strong for a young Moyne side and ran out comfortable winners with a nine goal margin. Katie Law scored a personal tally of six with Shannon McGuire and Leah Sinnott with two also finding the net

All Blacks        5          Curracloe United       3
The home side came out on top of this eight goal thriller between two sides who will both fancy their chances of challenging for the title. Emma Cullen (2) and Caoimhe Whelan scored for Curracloe while Cora Sinnott, Ciara Murphy and Aoibheann Rankin (3) were all on target for All Blacks

Under Twelve Division Two A
New Ross Celtic        4          Adamstown   3
A Caoimhe Kehir Murtagh hat trick gave Celtic a good foundation as they overcame Adamstown by the odd goal in seven. Casey Murphy also scored for the home side while Karlina Jarlarz, Ella Furlong and Ella Roche all found the net for Adamstown

Bunclody AFC            6          Bree United    1
Grace Donoghue was on target for Bree in this match but found the home side too strong on the day as they ran out 6-1 winners. Jade Conroy, Katie Moynihan, Corie Fotzgerald, Sarah Kenny and Jenna Conroy (2) all scored for Bunclody

Under Twelve Division Two B
Wexford Youths        0          New Ross Town        3
Two goals from Emma Rossiter and one from Aoibh Thomas gave New Ross Town a 3-0 victory away to Wexford Youths

Rosslare Strand         1          St Josephs      5
St Josephs made the long journey to Rosslare a worthwhile one when they came away 5-1 winners against a young home side. Sarah Walsh (3), Charlie Kennedy and Skye Kavanagh were all on target for the visitors while Ashley Roche scored for Strand

Under Twelve Division Three
Forth Celtic    1          Rosslare Rangers      9
Rosslare Rangers proved too strong for a youthful Forth Celtic side and ran out comfortable 9-1 winners. Katie Kehoe scored for Celtic but goals from Tegan Fortune (4), Bobbi Culleton (2), Abigail Clarke (2) and Amelia Reese gave Rangers all three points

Campile United         2          Cushinstown AFC      2
These two sides played out a thrilling draw as they shared four goals in Campile on Saturday morning. Sally Kehoe and Lauren Howlin Bolger were on target for the home side while Aoife Byrne scored both goals for Cushinstown

St Cormacs    7          Gorey Rangers B       0
The Boolavogue girls looked very impressive as they opened their season with a seven goal win over Gorey Rangers second team. Emerson Doran scored four with Bronagh Kenny with a hat trick made up their tally

Forth Celtic B             5          Fastnet Rovers          0
Celtic second string overcame new club Fastnet Rovers in a very fast and exciting encounter with Sinead Cullen (3) and Mia Quirke (2) both finding the net

Wexford Youths B     2          Shelburne FC             1
Caitlin Gaffney was on target for Shelburne but it was not enough as Rachel Meeney scored twice to give Youths second string all three points

Bridge Rovers B        4          New Ross Town B     0
Rovers second team opened their season with a win and secured all three points with a 4-0 win over Ross Town second team. Olivia Morris (3) and Aoife McEldowney were both on target for Bridge

Aughrim Rangers      7          Carnew FC     0
Aughrim Rangers opened their season with a comfortable win over a young Carnew side and knocked in seven without reply. Goals from Willow Jordan, Zoe O Connor, Aoife Campbell and Abigail Whitney (4) gave the home side a historic three points

Under Sixteen Division Two A
Seaview United         0          New Ross Town        10
Town got off to a flying start when they came away from Seaview comfortable winners with goals from Eadoin Kent (5), Jenny Canning (2), Cria Langton, Amy Lawlor and Jenny O Keefe

Under Sixteen Division Two B
Arklow Town             1          Carnew FC     1
These two Wicklow sides played out a tense 1-1 draw with Kay Murphy scoring the goal for Carnew while Ella Jenkinson scored for Arklow

St Josephs      3          Moyne Rangers         1
The Kilmuckridge girls opened their season with a win when they overcame Moyne Rangers 3-1 with Holly Meehan (2) and Amy Mitten on target for the winners. Jenna Boyd scored a great individual goal for Rangers

Women’s Premier One Shield Group A
Benfica LFC    3          Piltown FC      1
The home side bounced back from last Sundays defeat to East End with a 3-1 win at home to near neighbours Piltown. Caoimhe Mackey was on target for the visitors but goals from Becky Conroy (2) and Lisa Dower gave Benfica the three points and keep alive their chances of qualifying for the quarter finals

Women’s Premier One Shield Group B
All Blacks        1          Curracloe United       4
Curracloe have qualified for the quarter final of the Shield after this win away to All Blacks. Roisin Furlong was on target for the home side but goals from Natasha Byrne (2), Siobhan Doolan and Roisin Doolan gave the visitors the points that ensured their place in the last eight draw

Women’s Premier One Shield Group C
Adamstown   1          Corach Ramblers      0
It took eighty six minutes for Adamstown to eventually break down the stubborn resistance of newly promoted Corach Ramblers. In an evenly contested match, it took a sparkle of brilliance from Chantelle Martin to eventually break the deadlock with four minutes to go

Women’s Premier Shield Group D
Bree United     0    Ferns United      8
Premier side Ferns were much too strong for newly promoted Bree and ran out comfortable 8-0 winners. Goals from Rachel Collier, Liz Everedd, Josie Dwyer, Georgina Moore, Nicola Kirwan and a hat trick from Aoife Devereux, who was making her debut, gave Ferns all three points

Women’s Divisional Shield Group A
Courtown Hibs          0          Tombrack United      0
Despite this match being a scoreless draw, it was a game of several chances with the home side enjoying the best of the first half but unable to break down the visitors well organised defence. The second half was much more evenly contested and in the end both teams were content with a point

Women’s Divisional Shield Group B
New Ross Town        3          St Leonards    6
St Leonards have qualified for the knockout stages of the Shield after this 6-3 win away to a youthful New Ross Town. Sinead Ryan (2) and Sandra Murphy were on target for Town but goals from Fiona Ryan (4), Ciara Ryan and Niamh Browne gave the Ballycullane side their second win of the group and qualification for the next stage

Stoney LFC    0          Fastnet Rovers          5
Fastnet are also through to the next stage of the competition after they recorded a 5-0 win over an understrength Stoney side. Joanne Jordan (2), Rebecca O Connor, Shirley O Neill and Triona Kelly gave Rovers an important three points

Women’s Divisional Shield Group C
Cloughbawn AFC      3          Cushinstown AFC      0
The home side have qualified for the knockout stages of the Shield after this 3-0 win over a battling Cushinstown side. Jessica Martin scored twice with Gina Foley also finding the net in this victory

Shelburne FC             2          Seaview United B      1
New club Shelburne recorded their second win in a row and booked their place in the knockout stages after this 2-1 win over Seaview. Kelly O Rourke scored both goals for the home side

Women’s Divisional Shield Group D
Moyne Rangers         6          Ajax Athletic   0
A Siobhan Grant Moorehead hat trick set Moyne well on the way to a 6-0 win over Ajax in this Enniscorthy derby. Nicola Davitt scored two with Aideen Byrne also finding the net and give them a chance of qualifying for the knockout stages

Arklow Town             0          Bunclody AFC            2
Two wins from two games see Bunclody through to the knockout stages of the Shield as they travelled to Arklow and came away 2-0 winners. Hayley Browne scored direct from a corner and Britney Conroy made sure of the points with a goal ten minutes from the end

Women’s Divisional Shield Group E
Wexford Bohs            1          Rosslare Rangers      0
Bohs recorded their first win as an adult club when they overcame Rosslare Rangers 1-0 and gave themselves an outside chance of qualifying for the next round. Aideen Byrne scored the all important goal to give Bohs their historic victory

Bridge Rovers            1          St Josephs      9
St Josephs have ensured their place in the knockout stage with a comprehensive 9-1 win away to Bridge Rovers. Sarah Ryan scored for Rovers but goals from Michelle Gahan (4), Emer O Leary (3) and Kelsey Reid (2) gave Joeys victory
