Schoolgirls League
Campile United lifted the under twelve premier
division on Wednesday evening when they overcame Ballindaggin on penalties
after a 1-1 draw in Newbawn. Lydia McGrath gave Campile a first half lead and
they looked like they were going to hang on for the win in normal time but a
Faye Larkin free kick in the final minute got Ballindaggin back on level terms
and brought the game to extra time. No further goals saw the game go to
penalties where Campile kept their nerve to win 2-1. On the same evening
Kilmore United ensured their safety in the division when overcoming Curracloe
United 2-0 thanks to a goal in each half from Sophie Boxwell
On Friday evening, Kilmore United under fourteens
joined Cloughbawn at the top of the premier division when overcoming
Ballindaggin 5-0. Rachel Bennett and Ann Marie Bennett scored two each with
Emily Bates also finding the net ensuring the league now goes to a play off to
decide a champion
Tombrack United under tens booked their place in the
division one final when overcoming All Blacks on penalties after an end to end
exciting scoreless draw. They will meet Moyne Rangers in the final as they
overcame Seaview United 2-1 on Saturday with Amy Shannon and Megan O Connor on
target for Rangers and Ciaradh Connolly scoring for Seaview. Cloughbawn lifted
the division two A under ten title when proving too strong for a young Bridge
Rovers side and running out 6-1 winners. Chloe O Neill and Mary Kaylan scored
two each with Abbi Murray and Elizabeth Dempsey all scoring for Cloughbawn.
After a very long and close season, Corach Ramblers and St Josephs went to a
play off to decide the under twelve division two B title with the Kilmuckridge
girls running out 1-0 winners
Womens Premier Division
Ferns United 4 Benfica FC 1
The home side completed their season with a one
hundred per cent record when overcoming Benfica 4-1 on Sunday morning.
Stephanie Hallahan was on target for the visitors while Liz Everedd, Mary O Neill,
Aoife McClean and Georgina Moore all scored for the champions as they wrapped
up their fourteenth win of the season
Womens Premier Division Relegation Play Off
Seaview United 5 Cloughbawn 2
Cloughbawn got the ideal start in this relegation
play off when two goals from Siobhan Grant Moorehead saw them race into an
early lead. Seaview soon got back into the game and ensured their premier
status for next season with goals from Eimear Mullan (3), Kellie Mullan and
Leanne Foley
