Under Ten Cup First Round
Holders Courtown Hibs bowed out of the under ten cup
at the first round stage when beaten 6-1 at home by a very competent Adamstown
side. Grace Davis scored for Hibs but a Karlina Jaglarz hat trick added to two
goals from Ellen Duggan and one from Aisling O Dowd saw Adamstown through to
the last sixteen. Cloughbawn and Seaview played out a five goal thriller before
the Clonroche girls eventually caused a minor upset by advancing 3-2. Ciara
Connolly scored both Seaview goals but two goals from Mary Kaylan and one from
Chloe O Neill saw Cloughbawn into the second round. Tombrack United continued
their good season when overcoming Wexford Youths 4-0 thanks to two goals from
Zoe Tobin Cosgrave and one each from Tara Kenny and Abbie Walsh. Kilmore United
and Curracloe United had to go all the way to extra time in a thrilling match
before Curracloe eventually advanced to the second round courtesy of a Alanah
Tynan goal to give her a side a 1-0 win. Moyne Rangers are one of the
favourites to lift the cup and they opened their campaign in style with a 13-2
win over a young Rosslare Rangers side. Amy Shannon (7), Megan O Connor (3),
Niamh Farrell, Amy McDonald and Chloe Browne were all on target for a Moyne
side who are unbeaten this season
Under Ten Premier Division
Ballindaggin kept their title ambitions alive when
they travelled to Campile and came away 4-1 winners. Mai Dempsey was on target
for the home side while Anna Roban, Niamh Doyle and Tamara Kelly (2) were all
on target for the visitors
Under Twelve Division Three
St Leonards and Shelburne second teams played a
refixed under twelve fixture on Saturday in Ballycullane with the home side
eventually taking all three points thanks to a 3-2 win. Katie Connick and Katie
Murphy were on target for Shelburne but goals from Maeve Duffy (2) and Lauren
Roche gave St Leonards the three points
Under Fourteen Cup First Round
In a bad day for cup holders, Curracloe United bowed
out of the under fourteen cup in a thrilling first round game in Bunclody. Two
first half goals from Britney Conroy had Bunclody 2-0 up but Curracloe pulled
one back through Sarah Harding and the home side had to defend strongly to go
through to a second round meeting away to New Ross Town.
Under Fourteen Cup Second Round
The first ever meeting of Gorey Celtic and Gorey
Rangers created quite a bit of interest and it was Rangers who took the honours
as they advanced 3-0 courtesy of an Amy Wilson hat trick. Tombrack travelled to
Courtown Hibs and progressed to the quarter finals thanks to a 4-0 win with
Shannon McGovern scoring all four for the visitors. St Leonards and Cloughbawn
played out an exciting encounter before Cloughbawn eventually progressed on a
2-1 scoreline. Fiona Ryan was on target for St Leonards while Tara Doyle and
Laura Butler scored for the winners. North End United and Wexford Celtic had to
go all the way to extra time before North End eventually progressed to the last
eight with Chelsey Pitman scoring a spectacular extra time goal to put her side
through 2-1. Rachel Dempsey had scored for North End during normal time while
Niamh Tormey was on target for Celtic
Under Fourteen Division Two B
New Ross Town became the first league champions of
the season when clinching the division two B title as they ran out 9-0 winners
away to Cloughbawn second team. Sandra Murphy scored a hat trick with Amy
Walsh, Gemma Cullen and Kate Devereux all scoring two each as Town romped away
with the division winning six and drawing one of their seven games so far.
Under Sixteen Division One
Bree joined Bunclody at the top of the table when
they travelled to Camolin Celtic and came away 3-2 winners. Nicole Curran
scored both goals for Celtic while Louise Butler (2) and Aideen Byrne were on
target for Bree and they remain well in contention for the title
Under Eighteen League
Curracloe moved four points clear at the top of the
table after a 5-0 win over St Josephs thanks to an Amy Banville hat trick and a
goal each from Siobhan Doolan and Natasha Byrne.
