Wexford and District Womens and Schoolgirls League 06-01-2013

Under Twelve Premier Division
With leaders Kilmore not in action, Curracloe United took the opportunity to close the gap with a four one win at home to Ballindaggin. Niamh Mchugh was on target for the visitors but two goals for Sarah Siggins and one each for Sarah Whelan and Chloe Murphy gave the home side a vital three points that keeps their title hopes alive. In the battle of the bottom two sides, Fastnet Rovers and Bunclody played out a thrilling three all draw in Rathangan to leave both deadlocked at the foot of the table. Kathlynn Kelly, Nadine Cunningham and Kathlynn Gabett were all on target for Rovers while Rachel Murphy, Kelly Maguire and Amy Kavanagh were all on target for Bunclody

Under Twelve Division One
Taghmon moved five points clear after travelling to second placed Campile and came away three nil winners with Emma Clarke, Mairead Nolan and Laura Butler all on target. Moyne produced their best performance of the season when overcoming Gorey Celtic six nil thanks to four goals from Anais Curran and two from Paige Mitchell

Under Twelve Division Two A
Seaview made it six wins on the trot when travelling to Bridge Rovers and coming away five nil winners with Libby Sutton scoring a hat trick and Maeve Nunan scoring the other two. Wexford Celtic kept in touch with the leaders when overcoming third placed St Leonards three nil thanks to two goals from Niamh Tormey and one from Ciara Bridges. In the other game in the division, Shelburne pipped Killenagh two one in Ballywilliam. Megan Doyle scored for Wanderers but two Brid Madigan goals gave the home their second win of the season

Under Twelve Division Two B
New Ross Town sit top of the table after they overcame Forth Celtic four nil with Jenny Canning scoring two for Town to add to goals from Zoe Rossiter and Lauren Rossiter. St Josephs moved third after travelling to Rosslare Rangers and coming away two nil winners thanks to two Ciara Lyons goals

Under Twelve Division Three
Adamstown and Tombrack remain unbeaten in this division after they played out a two all draw in Newbawn. Goals from Jazmine Martin and Isabelle Herbert had the home side two nil up but a Shannon McGovern penalty and a last minute equaliser by her sister Shauna saw Tombrack come back for a point. Cloughbawn travelled to Campile and overcame the home sides second team four nil with Niamh Rooney scoring two and Caitlin Blackburn and Chloe Goodall adding one each. Camolin Celtic collected their first win of the season when coming away two one winners over Enniscorthy Town with Amy Shannon on target for Town while Aine Byrne scored both goals for Celtic

Under Sixteen Premier Division
Only two points seperate the top four in this division after Curracloe overcame Seaview nine three to move joint top with Killenagh Wanderers. Amy Banville, Noeleen Shanahan and Siobhan Doolan all scored two each to add to goals from Leanne Corrigan, Jessica Harding and Jessica Sinnott. Ciara Nolan scored two for Seaview with Dani Odham also scoring. Killenagh and St Leonards played out a two all draw, a result that keeps both sides well in contention, with Alex Holden scoring both goals for St Leonards while Aoife McCrea and Joanna Chrobak were on target for Wanderers

Under Sixteen Division One
Ballindaggin are top of the table after a four two win in St Josephs in a very competitive encounter.Molly Carlton scored two goals for the home side but a goal each from Sinead Nolan, Rachel Casey, Caoimhe Denton and Eimear Redmond gave Ballindaggin a very important win. Bree sit in second place after a three one home win over Rathnure United with Abbie Kennedy, Aideen Byrne and Niamh Sinnott all on target for Bree while Kelly O Rourke scored for Rathnure. Kilmore and Bunclody played out a thrilling four all draw to keep them both in the title race. Kate Hendrick scored a hat trick for Bunclody while Britney Conroy also scored and Rebecca Furlong scored all four for Kilmore

Under Sixteen Division Two
All Blacks and Bridge Rovers played out a five goal thriller before Rovers eventually came away three two winners. Chloe Mythen and Tara Smith had Rovers two nil up at half time but goals from Rebecca Popplewell and Tara Kenny had the sides level before Sinead Ronan John scored to give Bridge their first win of the season.

Womens Premier Division
Ferns United   4          Benfica FC      1
The home side remain on target for the league title when they overcame relegation threatened Benfica in a relatively comfortable four one win. Becky Conroy was on target for the Waterford side but two goals from Leona Breen and one each from Hayley Nolan and Liz Everedd gave Ferns their eight win of the season

Tramore FC     4          Seaview United          1
Tramore continue to keep the pressure on the leaders and are ready to take over should Ferns slip up on the run in for the title while Seaview will be battling hard to avoid the drop. Niamh Walsh scored twice for the home side with Amy Flynn and Vanessa Ogbonna were also on target

Cloughbawn    1          Adamstown    2
Adamstown picked up a vital three points in their battle against relegation and have pulled Cloughbawn right into trouble after this hard fought encounter. Tara Kennedy scored for the home side but two goals from Edwina Whelan gave Adamstown what could be a very important three points

Womens Division One A
Killenagh Wanderers  1          Kilmore United           0
In a very close hard fought encounter, Killenagh eventually took all three points and moved into a promotion challenging position. Both sides created chances in this match but defences dominated and a first half goal scored by Sarah Killick was all that divided the teams at the final whistle

North End United       3          Shilelagh United         0
After a scoreless first half, North End eventually broke down a stubborn resistance from Shilelagh and three second half goals eventually saw them take the points to move clear at the top of the table. Fiona Bennett showed a return to form when scoring twice and a late Leanne O Reilly goal wrapped up the victory for the home side

Curracloe have moved second when proving too strong for an understrength Enniscorthy Town side and ran out comfortable four nil winners. Bridget Curran scored twice with Geraldine Doolan and Clara Donnelly adding one each to move the home side to within two points of leaders North End

The home side kept alive their promotion ambitions when overcoming Fastnet Rovers three one. After a scoreless first half, Caoimhe Dunne scored twice for Celtic with Rachel Scannell also finding the net while Molly O Driscoll was on target for Rovers

Corach Ramblers         3          Courtown Hibs           3
Both these sides were delighted to get a point for different reasons as Ramblers push for promotion and Hibs continue their recent run of good form as they pull away from relegation danger. Sinead O Connor, Jackie Sinnott and Ciara Roche were on target for Corach while Donna O Brien, Lauran Ramsey and Gillian Sinnott scored for Courtown

Glen Celtic      0          St Josephs       2
St Josephs moved joint second in the table after this hard earned win over fellow title challengers Glen Celtic. In an end to end battle, the visitors took their chances through Louise Hammell and Roisin Murphy and picked up a very important victory on what must have been a very emotional day for the team as they made their first appearance without Laura Donnelly who tragically passed away before Christmas.

Womens Division Two A
Moyne Rangers           0          All Blacks       5
All Blacks won their eight game of the season as they travelled to Enniscorthy and took all three points, overcoming Moyne five nil. Roisin Furlong scored two with Tina Colloton, Eimear O Brien and Aoife Traynor all adding a goal each

Rosslare Rangers         2          Taghmon United         5
Taghmon moved into joint second after this win away to Rosslare Rangers, a team who have only picked up two points in their last four games. Karen Sinnott and Ciara Power were on target for Rangers but two goals each from Eilish Sinnott and Sarah Banville and one from Casey Maher gave the visitors a very important three points

Bree United    1          Rosslare Strand           3
Rosslare Strand sit in third after this win away to Bree United, a win that keeps alive their hopes of promotion

Castledockrell United 4          Cushinstown AFC      0
Castledockrell are just one win away from lifting the league title after they overcame Cushinstown for their ninth win of the season. Triona Murray scored twice while Laura Crean added one and a Cushinstown defender also deflected  the ball into her own net

(Match abandoned in 65th minute due to serious injury)
Camolin were well in control this game but the game had to be abandoned when one of the Camolin players sustained a suspected fractured ankle and had to be removed by ambulance to hospital
