Wexford and District Womens and Schoolgirls League 07-10-2012

Under Twelve Premier Division
Curracloe United        9          Bunclody AFC           0
Four goals from Sarah Siggins as well as a hat trick from Sarah Whelan and a goal each from Ailish Neville and Leah Scallon saw Curracloe take a comfortable three points with this big win over a young Bunclody side

Under Twelve Division One A
Campile United           5          Moyne Rangers           3
Anais Curran scored a hat trick for Moyne but it was not enough against a very good home side who took all three points thanks to two goals from Eadaoin Kent and one each from Kathryn Dempsey, Elena Kenny and Kate Foley

Taghmon United         3          North End United       0
The home side are confident of doing well at this age group this season and got off to a perfect start when beating North End three nil. Goals from Emma Clarke, Emma Kelly and Laura Butler saw Taghmon open the season with a victory

Under Twelve Division Two A
Bridge Rovers 6          Killenagh Wanderers  0
A young Killenagh side were no match for a very good Bridge Rovers side who knocked in six without reply. Nicole Pierce, Niamh Kehoe, Hayley Lacey, Jessica Scallan, Abbey Devereux and Aoibhe Manely were all on target for the home side

Wexford Celtic           2          Seaview United          3
These two sides played out an exciting five goal thriller before the visitors eventually did enough to take all three points. Niamh Tormey and Ciara Bridges scored both goals for the home side but a Libby Sutton hat trick gave Seaview victory

Shelburne        2          St Leonards     9
A young Shelburne side were no match for a very strong St Leonards side who ran out comfortable winners. Claire Murphy and Brid Madigan were on target for the home side but six goals from Fiona Ryan, two from Clodagh Foran and one from Amy Mahon had the visitors well in control

Under Twelve Division Two B
Rosslare Rangers         1          Corach Ramblers         10
Four goals from Jane Rossiter and a hat trick from Rebecca Holmes had Ramblers well on the way to victory over a young home side. Aisling Waters, Maxine Byrne and Shannon Anglim completed the scoring

New Ross Town         4          St Josephs       2
Two Lauren Rossiter goals late in the second half gave New Ross Town all three points after an exciting encounter where both sides provided a very entertaining and open encounter. Jenny Canning and Zoe Rossiter scored first half goals for Town

Courtown Hibs           3          Forth Celtic     1
The home side took all three points in this very close match with Amy Robertson, Ella Maree and Lara Walsh all hitting the net, Lauren McLoughlin scored for Forth

Under Twelve Division Three
Campile United B       4          Enniscorthy Town       1
New club Enniscorthy Town made the long journey to Campile but came away empty handed as the home side won four one. Alisha Nzenem was on target for Town but two goals from Jade Cleere and one each from Heather Walsh and Emma Knight gave the home side all three points

Camolin Celtic            4          Adamstown    7
A high scoring thriller saw Adamstown travel to Camolin and take all three points when overcoming a young home side. Megan Byrne scored a hat trick for the home side with Aine Byrne also finding the net

Under Sixteen Premier Division
Seaview United          1          Curracloe United        4
Curracloe began defence of their league title with a hard earned four one win away to Seaview United. Noirin McMahon scored for Seaview but two goals from Lauren Fitzgerald and one each from Amy Banville and Siobhan Doolan gave Curracloe victory

St Leonards     2          Killenagh Wanderers  2
These two sides played out a thrilling two all draw with Wanderers coming from two nil down to snatch a point. Two goals from Michelle Ryan had the home ahead at half time but strikes from Shannon Clancy and Coleen Fitzpatrick earned a draw for the visitors

Under Sixteen Division One
Bree United    1          Bunclody AFC           5
Bunclody got off to a flyer in this division as they overcame Bree by five goals to one. Kathlyn Furlong scored for the home side but four goals from the impressive Britney Conroy and one from Kate Sheehan gave the visitors all three points

St Josephs       1          Rathnure United         2
Rathnure travelled to Kilmuckridge on Sunday and took all three points in a two one win

Under Sixteen Division Two
New Ross Town         4          Bridge Rovers 3
The home snatched all three points in this match as they overcame Bridge Rovers by the odd goal in seven. A goal from Janine Doyle and a hat trick for Sinead Ryan accounted for the home sides tally while Becky Carter, Holly Johnson and Chloe Mythen all scored for Rovers

All Blacks       0          Camolin Celtic            2
A very closely fought encounter saw Camolin eventually take all three points after two first half goals from Nicola Curran. All Blacks did everything possible to try and break down the visitors defence but Camolin held on for victory

Under Twelve Leinster Blitz
For the second year in a row, Kilmore United have qualified for the National Under Twelve finals after coming through a very competitive Leinster section with two wins and two draws. Draws against Cabinteely and Shelbourne (Dublin) and wins over Gorey Celtic and St Josephs (Dublin) saw them safely through with Emily Bates, Abbie Troy and Sophie Boxwell scoring the all important goals along the way. Gorey Celtic, Cloughbawn and Tombrack United also represented Wexford at this provincial blitz with Celtic and Cloughbawn just missing out and Tombracks young side acquitted themselves well.

League Training Centre Trials
Trials for this seasons Under Twelve and Under Fourteen league training centres take place next Sunday in Bunclody. The under twelves will be in first between two and three thirty and players born in 2001 and 2002 are eligible and these will be followed by the under fourteens between three thirty and five. Players born in 1999 and 2000 are eligible for this age group.
All players interested in attending for trials should contact Elayne Grant on 087 1215136 and remember this is the first step on the way to playing in the Gaynor Cup next June and potentially International football in the future.

Congratulations to Republic of Ireland Under Seventeen girls
The Republic of Ireland under seventeen girls team have qualified for the elite phase of the UEFA championships after winning all three of their qualifying group games in Belarus last week. Three players from Wexford Youths played an integral part in the qualification with Ashling Frawley scoring the vital goal on the last day to beat Finland two one with Ciara Rossiter and Lauren Dwyer also playing in that excellent victory. Earlier in the week, Ireland beat Belarus three nil and Georgia seven nil to set a winner takes all match against Finland and after an exciting tussle, the girls in green did enough to book their place in the elite phase of the competition.

Womens Premier Division
Cloughbawn    4          Benfica            4
The home side led three one at half time and four one early in the second half and looked to have the points well and truly wrapped up but Benfica bounced back to score three late goals and earn a point. A hat trick from Mary Tyrell and a goal from Daria Charzian had Cloughbawn in control but two goals from Becky Conroy and one each from Lauren Cottrol and Stephanie Hallahan earned the Waterford side a fortunate point

The home side picked up their second win of the season and keep the pressure on leaders Ferns after this big win over Adamstown. Niamh Walsh scored a hat trick to add to goals from Vanessa Ogbonna, Rosie Flynn and Sabrina Winters

After a scoreless first half, Ferns showed why they are title favourites as they dominated the second half and ran out four nil winners. Two goals from Liz Everedd as well as one each from Hayley Nolan and Marian Doyle gave the home team victory

Womens Division One A
Shilelagh United         1          North End United       2
Leanne O Reilly gave North End the lead in this exciting end to end clash but Fiona Byrne levelled for the home side midway through the second half. The game looked to be heading for a draw until Jessica Beary grabbed the winner for the Wexford girls right at the end

Kilmore United           2          Wexford Celtic           1
The home side continued their good start to the season with this win over Wexford Celtic in a very close match. Niamh Moore and Katrina Parrock were on target for Kilmore while Nellie Walsh scored for Celtic

Killenagh Wanderers  2          Enniscorthy Town       5
Enniscorthy Town are looking impressive this season and this victory over an equally impressive Killenagh proved they could be title contenders. Julie McGarry and Tracy Byrne scored for the home side with Lorraine Sludds scoring two for Town to add to goals from Nicola Davitt, April Breen and Bridget McDonald

Womens Division One B
St Josephs       0          Forth Celtic     0
Despite this being a scoreless draw, the game was full of attacking football with both keepers producing top drawer performances and both sides were content with a point each

Bunclody were unlucky to go down by a solitary goal for the second time away from home but the home side were good value for their win with Molly o Driscoll scoring the only goal of a very tight game

Celtic have recovered well from their opening day defeat and already look like title contenders as they overcame a stubborn Corach Ramblers. Sarah Meyler, Sarah Farrell and Siobhan Nolan were on target for the home side while Ciara Roche scored for Corach

New Ross Town         8          Courtown Hibs           2
Town made it three wins from three games as they proved to be too strong for Courtown Hibs, running out comfortable winners. Kellie Keating scored a hat trick with Lina Smitate and Anne Carroll scoring two each with Jenny Delaney also finding the net

Womens Division Two A
Tombrack United        0          Taghmon United         6
A young home side had no answer to a fitter Taghmon side who eventually ran out comfortable six nil winners. Aoife Morrissey and Ailish Sinnott scored two each while Gemma Doran and Becky Doyle added a goal each

The home team continued their good start to the season with a comfortable four nil win over Moyne Rangers. Tina Colloton, Julie Coakley, Kim O Connor and an own goal saw All Blacks win their third game in a row

Cloughbawn B            0          Rosslare Rangers         4
Rangers moved second as they overcame Cloughbawn second team with Shannon O Brien scoring a hat trick while Sarah Walsh was also on target. The visitors finishing in front of goal was the difference between the sides

Casltledockrell have put themselves down as serious title contenders after this four two win away to Camolin. Megan Murray scored both goals for the home side but Laura Creane, Cait Doyle, Alma Morris and Kelly Ann Murphy were all on target for the visitors

Bree proved too strong for Crossabeg, running out comfortable eight nil victors. Lauren Sinnott scored a hat trick with Nicola Rochford and Mary O Gorman adding two each while Kate Murphy also found the net

Cushinstown collected their first point as a club when drawing with title challengers Campile. Melissa Doyle put the home side ahead with Pamela Cummins scoring the equaliser for the visitors
