Wexford and District Womens and Schoolgirls League 27-02-2011

Under Ten Cup Second Round
After a full fixture list on Saturday, the line up for the Under Ten cup quarter finals are now complete after all eight games went ahead as fixed. In the all premier clash, Fastnet Rovers were too strong for Ballindaggin and progressed five one thanks to a hat trick from Clare McGee and two goals from Anne Marie Bennett while Aoife Devereux scored for Ballindaggin. Curracloe progressed four nil against division two side Courtown Hibs with Elaine O Connell-Sullivan, Kyra Lacey-O Connor, Sarah Harding-Kenny and Sarah Siggins all getting on the scoresheet. Gorey Celtic overcame Camolin Celtic in the all division two game and went through five nil courtesy of goals from Amber Donohoe, Caragh Clarke, Amy Wilson, Eabha Cahill and Paige Tanner. Corach Ramblers travelled to Glen Celtic and won four two in a very closely contested cup tie. Aoife Nolan and Karleigh Kinsella scored for Celtic while two goals from Jane Rossiter and one each from Michaela French and Cora Bennett put Ramblers in the last eight. Division Three leaders Taghmon travelled to Forth Celtic and came away three one winners in a very evenly contested cup tie while high scoring tie of the round saw All Blacks overcome Ferns United seven four with Emily Coakley scoring six for the home side. Rebecca Foley scored the other goal while Nicola Ryan and Charlotte Stammers scored two each for Ferns. Moyne Rangers were too strong for St Josephs and ran out six nil winners thanks to goals from Sinead Morrissey, Anais Curran, Kasey Grant Kehoe, Faye Larkin and two from Paige Mitchell. Match of the day saw Kilmore United overcome Shelbourne on penalties after an one all draw. Kira Bates Crosbie scored for Kilmore while Hannah Keating scored for Shelbourne and Emily Bates was the heroine for the seasiders as she scored the penalty that put them in the last eight

Under Ten League
In a vital premier relegation battle, Bree overcame Campile to move away from the bottom, running out three two winners. Elena Kenny scored both goals for Campile while Amy Long scored two and Katie Humphrey added one for Bree. St Leonards moved top of division two A when they travelled to Bridge Rovers and came away four one winners thanks to a goal from Clodagh Bohanna and a hat trick for Fiona Ryan while Chloe Mythen scored for Rovers. Rosslare Rangers travelled to Tombrack and a goal in each half gave them a two nil win while Gorey Celtic B overcame Wexford Celtic eight nil thanks to goals from Niamh Woolcock, Ella Rice, Nikka Woolcock, Alex Laurey with two and a hat trick from Dee Kennedy

Leinster Under Fourteen Cup Second Round
Shelbourne bowed out of the Leinster Under Fourteen Cup when unable to control the fire power of Newtown United from Newtownmountkennedy. Kate Cullen scored twice for Shelbourne but the visitors ran out comfortable seven two winners

Under Fourteen Cup Second Round
Goals from Goergina Creane and Denise Bolger gave Tombrack a two one win over fellow division two side Taghmon to go through to the last eight while Courtown Hibs caused a major upset by travelling to premier side Curracloe and winning two nil thanks to two Gemma Kehoe goals. St Leonards made Ferns fight all the way before bowing out two one to the premier side who led two nil at half time. Rita Davitt and Naomi Walsh scored for the visitors while Michelle Ryan scored a second half goal for St Leonards. Campile progressed through three nil against Fastnet Rovers with Hazel Murphy, Megan Whitty and Lauren Murphy all on target for the winners. Ciara Morrissey and Melissa Kenny were both on target for Moyne Rangers who overcame Bunclody two one to reach the quarter finals with Katie Bennett scoring for the visitors. Seaview United were too strong for Kilmore and won through four one thanks to two goals each from Leanne Foley and Fiona Rowe while Chloe Bates scored a penalty for Kilmore. Forth Celtic proved too strong for St Josephs and won four nil with Ciara Rossiter continuing her excellent runof scoring as she knocked in all four. On Wednesday, Shelbourne played Killenagh in the outstanding first round match and progressed three nil with Siobhan Grant Moorehead scoring a hat trick

Under Fourteen League
Ferns travelled to Kilmore on Thursday in the premier division and moved second when proving too strong for the home and ran out six nil winners. Rita Davitt scored a hat trick with Hayley Nolan adding two goals and Joy Quigley also scoring. North End moved into joint top position in division one when beating Corach Ramblers four nil on Saturday with Zoe Doyle scoring two with Sara Byrne and Rebecca Foley scoring one each. In division two Glen Celtic remain in contention for the title with a two one win away to Ballindaggin. Moyne Rangers travelled to Bunclody on Friday and came away two nil winners thanks to goals from Aideen Byrne and Aoife McCrea.

Under Sixteen League
On Thursday, North End United and Seaview United played out an exciting scoreless draw in under sixteen division one with North End still sitting top of the division

Leinster Junior Cup Second Round
Tramore and Seaview United met for the third time this season and it seems there is very little between them as they once again played a thrilling match that had to go all the way to penalties to be decided. Jade Shanahan scored for Tramore but Sonja Murphy levelled for Seaview  and with no further goals, the game went to penalties where Seaview progressed three two. Rosslare Rangers had a difficult match away match away to one of the competition favourites St Josephs Girls and bowed out to a very experienced home side by six goals to nil

Womens Premier Division
After Sundays results, the Premier title race is now down to a two horse race between Benfica and Curracloe as both collected wins and their two closest challengers lost. Benfica hosted Killenagh and won five nil thanks to two goals from Brianne O Connor and one each from Keeley Claydon, Stephanie Hallahan and Beserta Arjeti. Curracloe travelled to Bunclody and remained three points clear of Benfica as they triumphed three one thanks to goals from Tara Moloney, Julie Coakley and Laura Corrigan while Elaine Casey scored for Bunclody. Adamstown bounced back from their defeat by North End last week and killed off Ferns Uniteds hope of retaining their title with a three one win. Liz Everedd scored for Ferns but goals from Nikki Dunphy, Chantelle Martin and Niamh Kelly gave Adamstown the three points that should ensure their premier status for next season

Womens Division One
Coolgreaney Celtic kept pressure on the leaders when travelling to Glen Celtic and eventually coming away two nil winners in a game marred by injury to Siobhan Nolan from Glen who picked up a nasty ankle injury. Both teams wish her a speedy recovery as Karen Morris scored both goals for Coolgreaney. Slaney Rovers pulled further and further away from relegation worries as they overcame All Blacks three one thanks to two goals from Catherine Dempsey and one from Sinead Morris while Nicola Stenning scored for All Blacks

Womens Division Two A
Forth Celtic look favourites to get promoted from division two A when they travelled to Shelbourne and came away four two winners inflicting the first league defeat of the season on the home side. Marcelle Cullen scored twice for Shelbourne while Ciara Rossiter and Orla Power scored two each for Celtic. Tombrack are making a brave effort to get away from relegation when travelling to Wexford Celtic and taking a point in a one all draw. Martina Ivory scored for Tombrack with Michelle Murphy levelling for Celtic. Arklow remain in contention for promotion when making the long journey to Fastnet Rovers and winning two one thanks to two goals from Tanya McDonald while Johanne Jordan scored for Rovers. Corach Ramblers lifted their relegation worries when travelling to Taghmon United and came away three one winners

Womens Division Two B
Shilelagh United are only four points away from lifting the division two B title after winning four nil at home to a rapidly improving Cloughbawn side. Edel Kennedy scored two with Leeanne Tumelty and Fiona Byrne adding one each. Courtown Hibs kept the pressure on the leaders with a big win at home to a very young Campile United side who showed great character to battle to the end. Gillian Sinnott, five, Gemma Keogh, four, Lauren Ramsey, two, Gina Kavanagh, two plus one each from Julie Ann Kinsella and Shelley Burgess. New Ross Town also kept the pressure on the leaders with an eight two win at home to Rosslare Strand. Josie Murphy scored four, Jenny White, two and one each from Yvonne Malone and Yvonne O Neill were all on target for the New Ross women. Castledockrell kept alive their chance of promotion with a three nil win at home to Moyne Rangers thanks to two goals from Bernie Coleman and one from Mairead Doyle
