Both sides started well but it was the Wexford town side who took an early lead through Martina Pender and doubled it before the break when Natasha Walsh was on target. Kilmore were more dominant in the early stages of the second half but could not break down a strong North End defence and when Natasha Walsh scored her second fifteen minutes after the restart, the game was effectively over. North End were presented with the Michelle Coleman Cup by league vice chairman Barry Dempsey while their player Sara Byrne collected the player of the match award. The second half saw both sides go in search of a winner and although St Joseph’s were enjoying a lot of possession but could not break down a resilient Cloughbawn defence. Midway through the half, the Clonroche side went ahead when Gina Foley was sharpest to a through ball and slotted past the keeper for what proved to be the winning goal. St Joseph’s did come in search of an equaliser but were unable to find a way through and Cloughbawn held on to round off an incredible season for the club. Louise Hammel who had worked tirelessly throughout the game in the Joeys defence picked up the player of the match award
