Womens
Premier Division
Cloughbawn
AFC 2 Ferns United 9
After the
long enforced break due to the weather, Ferns got back to their winning ways
and eventually overcame relegation threatened Cloughbawn after a very close
first half where the visitors only led 3-2. However, Ferns controlled the
second half to run out comfortable 9-2 victors and two more wins will secure
the title with Liz Everedd and Leona Breen scoring a hat trick each with Marian
Doyle adding two while Rachel Collier also found the net. Siobhan Grant
Moorehead scored both goals for Cloughbawn
Womens
Division One
Cloughbawn B 1 Killenagh
Wan 9
Killenagh
travelled to Rathurtin and remained well in control of the division when they
overcame Cloughbawn second string 9-1 with Kelly Ann Lambert on target for
Cloughbawn. Leanne Naughter scored a hat trick for the visitors with Laura
Stafford (2), Claire Halvey, Marian Cardiff and Sarah Donnellan also hitting
the net
St Josephs 5 New
Ross Town 0
St Josephs
remain in contention for at least promotion after proving too strong for a New
Ross Town side who have hit a poor run of form in recent games and have fell
away in the race for the top two. Becky Hayden scored two with Aine Roche,
Laura Warren and Michelle Gahan all adding a goal each
Womens
Division Two
Shilelagh
United 3 Camolin Celtic 1
Niamh O
Leary gave an understrength Camolin the lead in this game but a strong second
half performance from the home side ensured that Shilelagh remain in contention
for promotion. Two goals from Fiona Byrne and one from Niamh Dillon was enough
to give the home side their sixth win of the season.
Tombrack
United 4 Bunclody AFC 2
The home
side eventually overcame a determined Bunclody side and have opened a gap
between themselves and the bottom two. After a closely fought encounter, a
strong finish from Tombrack saw them take a vital three points in their battle
against relegation. Hayley Browne scored both Bunclody goals but two goals from
Martina Ivory and one each from Sinead Ryan and Marie Allen secure victory for
Tombrack.
