Wexford and District Womens and Schoolgirls League 03-02-2013
Under Twelve Cup First Round
Seven teams progressed to the last sixteen of the under twelve cup on Saturday with Moyne Rangers and Wexford Celtic providing the game of the day. Despite both sides creating loads of chances, neither side could find the net and the game progressed to extra time and then penalties. It was Celtic who held their nerve and went through four three in a very close exciting cup tie that was almost worthy of the final. Seaview United travelled to Newbawn and overcame Adamstown five two thanks to two goals from Libby Sutton and one each from Cassie Baker, Meabh Nunan and Aoife Nolan with Jasmine Martin scoring two for the home side. Cloughbawn proved too strong for fellow division three side Camolin Celtic and went through six two with Niamh Rooney scoring one and Tara Doyle added a remarkable five while Aine Byrne and Aisling Cwrate on target for Camolin. Corach and Taghmon played out a thriller before Taghmon eventually went through two one with Maxine Byrne on target for Ramblers and Mairead Nolan scoring two for visitors. St Leonards were too strong for a young Forth Celtic side and ran out seven nil winners with Fiona Ryan scoring five while Clodagh Foran and Aisling Power added one each. Gorey Celtic travelled to North End and progressed four nil with Ciara Hammett scoring a hat trick and Caragh Clarke added one. Tombrack United went through when Rosslare Rangers forfeited the game.
Leinster Under Twelve Cup Quarter Final
Olympic Rovers 4 Curracloe United 0
Curracloe made the long journey to Meath and bowed out of the Leinster cup to a very competent home side. The Wexford girls acquitted themselves well but found the home team too strong on the day.
Under Twelve League
Kilmore made the short trip to Fastnet Rovers and collected their fifth win of the season when overcoming the home side five nil. Megan Doyle scored two with Sophie Boxwell, Kira Bates Crosbie and Anna Bates adding one each. This win moves Kilmore six points clear at the top of the premier division although Curracloe have games in hand. In Division Two A Bridge Rovers overcame Shelburne four nil thanks to two goals from Hayley Lacey and one each from Rachel Philpott and Niamh Kehoe. In Division Three, Enniscorthy Town and Campile United played out a four all draw in Pearse Road with Amy Shannon scoring a hat trick for the home side with Saoirse McGabhann also finding the net. Ellie Boland, Jade Cleere, Sinead Desmond Lyng and Emma Knight were all on target for Campile second string
Ger Dunne Under Sixteen Cup First Round
Bunclody made it through to the quarter finals of the cup when overcoming local rivals Ballindaggin two one in a very close match with Britney Conroy scoring two goals for the home side. Holders Curracloe are through after a three nil win over Bree United thanks to goals from Noeleen Shanahan, Amy Banville and Siobhan Doolan while an extra time last minute goal saw Kilmore United go through one nil against Forth Celtic. St Leonards overcame a determined effort at home to New Ross Town thanks to two goals from Ciara Ryan and one from Aine McGarr. Tombrack and Camolin played out a thrilling cup match before Camolin made it through three two. Aisling O Rourke and Catherine O Mahoney were on target for Tombrack but goals from Michelle Kehoe, Anna Byrne and a last minute goal from Aoife Curran saw Camolin through
Under Sixteen League
In the only league match of the day, Bridge Rovers overcame All Blacks three nil with Becky Carter scoring two and Sinead Ronan John also finding the net

All Blacks continued a great season when comfortably easing past Rosslare Rangers and into the quarter finals of the Wexford Cup. Roisin Furlong scored a hat trick while Kim O Connor added two
Courtown Hibs 4 Camolin Celtic 3
These two sides produced a thrilling cup tie before Hibs eventually made it through to the last eight. Megan Murray scored two for Celtic with Katie Kehoe also finding the net while Lauren Rampsey, Vikki Larkin, Irene Grant and Lisa Cunningham were all on target for Hibs
Benfica 1 Ferns United 2
Premier leaders Ferns were made battle all the way by a very determined Benfica side who will feel unlucky not to have brought the game to at least extra time. Carol Breen was on target for the home side but a free kick from Caroline Murphy and a headed goal from Mary O Neill saw Ferns through
Kilmore United 3 Coolgreaney Celtic 4
For excitement this was the match of the day with Celtic coming from three two down with five minutes to go to score a last minute winner to go through four three. Jasmine Redmond scored a hat trick for the home side but a goal from Karen Tomkins and a Sarah Merrigan hat trick saw Collgreaney take their place in the draw for the last eight
Womens Division One A
Shilelagh United 1 Curracloe United 1
Curracloe remain second after this one all draw against a determined Shilelagh side who are in serious relegation trouble but not going down without a fight. Megan Doyle put the home side ahead in the first half but Niamh Potter levelled in the second half to earn Curracloe a valuable point
Wexford Celtic 1 North End United 6
North End came out on top in this Wexford town derby and are now four points clear at the top of the table and look likely for a return to the top division. Natasha Martin scored for Celtic but two goals from Fiona Bennett and one each from Rebecca Foley, Martina Pender, Niamh Butler and Aoife Tormey gave North End the points

The home side moved away from the relegation zone when overcoming Corach Ramblers by a solitary goal scored by Nicole Fortune

After a very dogged battle, Cloughbawn kept alive their chance of promotion when overcoming Tombrack two nil. Tina Cullen scored with a long range shot and Tara Somers wrapped up the points with a second half goal
