Wexford and District Womens and Schoolgirls League 17-03-2013

Under Twelve Premier Division
Curracloe United        1          Kilmore United           1
Kilmore picked up a very valuable point in Curracloe and look hot favourites to take the premier title although both Curracloe and Ballindaggin will do all they can to prevent that happening. In a closely contested match, Ailish Neville scored for Curracloe while Kira Bates Crosbie was on target for Kilmore

Bunclody AFC           0          Ballindaggin    8
Ballindaggin kept alive their slim chances of catching Kilmore with a comfortable win away to Bunclody. Niamh Mchugh scored five with Nicola Ryan adding two goals and Niamh Finn also on target as the visitors enjoyed complete control against a young Bunclody side

Under Twelve Division One
Moyne Rangers           0          Taghmon United         3
Taghmon lifted the division one title after a three nil win away to a Moyne Rangers side who were better than the three goal deficit suggests. Mairead Nolan acored twice with Emma Clarke also scoring to wrap up the title as they won their sixth league game in a row and also have the honour of not conceding a league goal so far. League Vice Chairman Barry Dempsey was on hand to present the trophy to the new champions and they can now concentrate on their cup campign

These two sides produced a fantastic game of soccer before eventually sharing the points in a two all draw. Ciara Hammett scored both goals for Celtic while Ellie Boland and Kathryn Dempsey were on target for Campile

Under Twelve Division Two A
Seaview United          4          St Leonards     3
A thriller of a game saw Seaview United eventually attain the three points they needed to clinch the league title. In an end to end game, Fiona Ryan scored a hat trick for St Leonards who finish their season and currently sit second but must wait to see how Wexford Celtic finish their season. Libby Sutton scored all four goals for the home side to give them their ninth win of the season and lift the league trophy which was presented to the victorious side by league Vice Chairman Barry Dempsey

Corach Ramblers         2          Forth Celtic     0
Ramblers remain top of the table after this two nil win at home to Forth Celtic.

St Josephs       0          Courtown Hibs           6
Hibs made the short journey to St Josephs and ran out six nil winners which keeps alive their chances of catching the leaders. Lara Walsh scored a hat trick while Ella Maree, Amy Robertson and Jean Kavanagh Doyle all added a goal each

Under Twelve Division Three
Adamstown    3          Cloughbawn    3
These two sides played out a six goal thriller which sees Adamstown remain on top of the table and keep alive Cloughbawns outside chance of promotion. Kate Doyle scored a hat trick for the visitors but two goals from Jasmine Martin and one from Meabh Wickham gave the home side a point

Campile United B       0          Tombrack United        4
Tombrack remin well in contention for the title after this win away to Campile Uniteds second team. Goals from Shannon McGovern, Tia Byrne, Leanne Kenny and Chloe Hayden Doyle gave the visitors a valuable three points

Ger Dunne Under Sixteen Cup Quarter Final
Curracloe United        4          Bunclody AFC           0
Holders Curracloe remain on track for retaining their Ger Dunne Cup when overcoming Bunclody by four goals to nil. Rianna Cullen scored twice while Amy Banville and Lauren Fitzgerald scored a goal each

St Leonards     3          Camolin Celtic            2
Division two leaders Camolin Celtic made premier side St Leonards battle before the home side eventually take their place in the semi finals. Nicole Curran and Chloe Doyle were on target for Celtic but two goals from Ciara Ryan and an Aine McGarr strike was enough to kill off the brave efforts of the visitors

Killenagh progressed to the semi finals of the Ger Dunne Cup with a comfortable win away to Kilmore United who scored through Chloe Troy. However two goals each from Megan Cahill and Tara Doyle and one each from Sinead Gaynor, Elaine Hall and Aoife McCrea saw the visitors into the last four

Under Sixteen Division One
Rathnure United         1          Ballindaggin    5
Ballindaggin are edging closer and closer to the league title as they overcame Rathnure five one. Rachel Casey and Roisin Brimson scored a goal each for the visitors while Eimear Redmond scored a hat trick.

Bree United    4          St Josephs       0
Bree keep the pressure on leaders as they overcame St Josephs four nil with Niamh Sinnott opening the scoring to lead one nil at half time. Goals from Aideen Byrne, Kathlyn Furlong and Abbie Kennedy wrapped up the three points to keep alive their title ambitions

Under Sixteen Division Two
All Blacks       4          Tombrack United        4
Four goals from Denise Bolger seemed to have Tombrack well in control as they led four one just after half time. Rebecca Popplewell had scored for the home side in the first half and a second half Emily Coakley hat trick earned them their second point of the season

Leinster Womens Cup Semi Final
Tramore FC     6          Cloughbawn    0
This all Wexford league semi final saw Tramore eventually break down a stubborn Cloughbawn side and progress to the final on a flattering six nil scoreline. The game was moved to Friday night to facilitate both sides and it was the home side who scored after just four minutes and then just before half time and wrapped up the game with four goals in the final twenty minutes. Vanessa Ogbonna scored twice with Amy Flynn, Rosie Flynn, Catherine Power and Eleanor Power also scoring and the Waterford side booked their place in the Leinster final

Womens Premier Division
Coolgreaney Celtic     1          Ferns United   6
Ferns produced a league winning performance in Coolgreaney to lift their third premier league title in six years and this performance over the bottom club showed that they are deserving champions. Karen Morris scored for Celtic but a hat trick for Liz Everedd, two goals from Josie Dwyer and one from Caroline Murphy ensured a happy St Patricks Day for the Ferns girls as league Vice Chairman Barry Dempsey was on hand to present them with their league trophy. Coolgreaney now have one more chance to avoid the drop to division one when they travel to Seaview next Sunday

Seaview showed they are without doubt the “best of the rest” as they confirmed their third place finish in the league while Adamstown are still in danger of relegation. Goals from Fiona Rowe, Jane Banville, Maebh Kehoe and Jo Rossiter saw the visitors take a comfortable three points

Curracloe United        1          Kilmore United           4
Shelly Doyle opened the scoring to give an understrength Curracloe side the lead but Kilmore, who still have ambitions of promotion, battled back to take all three points. Niamh Moore leveled from the penalty spot before Katrina Parrock secured the points with a hat trick

New Ross Town         8          Forth Celtic     0
The home side remain top of the table after provng too strong for Forth Celtic and it now looks to be a two horse race between Town and Glen Celtic for the title. Kellie Keating scored a hat trick, Lina Smitate added two goals while Anne Carroll, Linda Kelly and Jenny Delaney all added a goal each

Glen Celtic v Bunclody AFC
Glen collected a handy three points and remain in contention for the title when Bunclody found themselves without enough players to travel for this league tie

Womens Division Two A
Tombrack United        1          All Blacks       2
Martina Ivory gave Tombrack the lead in this very close league encounter but All Blacks got back on level terms when awarded a penalty which was converted by Tina Colloton. A goal by Colleen Rossiter with ten minutes remaining secured the win for the league champions who were presented with their league trophy after the match by league committee member Elayne Grant

This very intense battle between two sides chasing promotion produced more chances than the scoreline suggests but the point earned by Cloughbawn was enough to see them promoted for the second year in a row

Womens Division Two B
Bree United    1          Castledockrell United 6
League champions Castledockrell completed their season with a one hundred per cent record as they came away from Bree six one winners. Olina Doyle scored for Bree but four goals from Caitriona Murray and one each from Aileen Creane and Cait Doyle gave the visitors their twelfth win of the season

Camolin Celtic v Campile United
Camolin were already promoted but picked up an easier than expected three points when Campile were unable to field a team

Boland Carpets Cup First Round
Courtown Hibs           1          Corach Ramblers         2          aet
These two sides produced a top class entertaining game of cup football before Corach eventually progressed after extra time. Lauren Rampsey scored for Hibs but Ciara Roche was on target for Corach in normal time and scored again in extra time to put Ramblers into a semi final meeting with St Josephs

Under Twelve Cup Final
This seasons Under Twelve cup final will be played in Ferrycarrig Park on Saturday May 11th as part of the John Giles Foundation Festival of Football. This will be a big opportunity for two of our teams to play in Ferrycarrig Park for what promises to be a big celebration of football in the county.
