Noel Kehoe Pitch Development Under Twelve Cup Semi Finals

Cloughbawn and Ballindaggin will contest the Noel Kehoe Pitch Development Cup final after both came through very closely contested semi finals during the week. On Tuesday Cloughbawn travelled to Curracloe and after a very close encounter they eventually booked their place in the final. After a scoreless forty minutes, the game went to extra time with the game remaining scoreless and then into the penalty shoot out where the visitors held their nerve to advance 3-2. On Friday evening Ballindaggin travelled to New Ross Town and after a thrilling game, they eventually overcame the home side by one goal to nil to book their place in their second final of the season having already made it to the under ten final. Niamh Mchugh scored the only goal of a pulsating cup tie against a New Ross side who were experiencing their first defeat of the season.

Under Twelve Division Two A

Moyne Rangers and Shelburne played out a 1-1 draw on Friday evening leaving them both safe in mid table. Ella Lyng was on target for Shelburne while the versatile Amy Shannon scored for Moyne

Under Twelve Division Two B

Corach Ramblers travelled to Adamstown on Tuesday evening and remain on course for a play off with St Josephs as they came away 4-1 winners. Maxine Byrne, Ellie Aldridge (2) and Niamh Millar all scored for Ramblers and they now need just one win to join St Josephs at the top of the table. On Wednesday Tombrack United travelled to Forth Celtic where the home side took all three points winning 2-1 with Lauren McLoughlin and Ellen Goggins on target for Celtic while Mia Kelly scored for Tombrack.

Under Twelve Division Three

Divisional champions All Blacks showed their class when travelling to Rosslare Rangers on Saturday and coming away 9-0 winners. Sarah Ward and Sarah Hendrick scored a hat trick each while Emma Carr, Sarah Cleary and Cora Kenny were all on target for the visitors. New Ross Town seconds hosted St Leonards seconds on Saturday morning with Town winning 3-1

Ger Dunne Under Sixteen Cup Semi Finals

Bree United travelled to New Ross Town on Saturday morning and despite going 2-0 down to the home side they battled back to bring the game to extra time and Bree eventually progressed 3-2. Goals from Louise Butler, Kaitlin Furlong and Moya Neary saw Bree through to the final. Sunday evening saw two of the biggest teams at this age group clash in the semi final when Killenagh hosted Curracloe and both sides lived up to the hype as they had to go all the way to penalties to decide a winner. Curracloe took a first half lead through Fiona Kinsella but Killenagh bounced back with a deserved second half equaliser when Tara Doyle score and no further goals saw the game go to extra time and then penalties. In a very intense penalty shoot out, Curracloe eventually progressed to the final 5-4.

Kilmore United played St Leonards twice in five days and took six points as they won both games. On Tuesday they won 6-3 with Fiona Ryan scored a hat trick for the Saints but goals from Rachel Bennett (2), Becky Furlong (2), Aine Maher and Cora Miller giving the home side all three points. On Sunday they travelled to Ballycullane and overran a young home side 8-0 with Cora Miller scoring six to add to goals from Becky Furlong and Emily Bates.

Campile United picked up all three points at home to Arklow Town with Megan Murphy and Chloe Banville scoring while Bridge Rovers picked up a vital three points after Tara Smith scored the only goal of the game at home to Wexford Celtic

Under Eighteen League

Wexford Under Sixteen Squad lift Viking Cup in Waterford

A top class performance in the RSC last week saw Wexfords Under Sixteen squad lift the Viking Cup with four scintillating performances against some of the top leagues in the country. They opened the campaign with a 1-0 win over Cork with Denise Bolger scoring the only goal of a very close game. This was followed up by a 5-2 win over top Dublin league Metro Girls League with Denise Bolger scoring another two to add to goals from Sinead Ryan with two and Mairead O Shea. This set up a semi final against Limerick Desmond and Wexford advanced with a last minute winner from Michaela Farrell after Sinead Gaynor had scored early in the game to put the girls in Pink through 2-1. The final against Kilkenny was a tough encounter but the Wexford girls stood up to the task and they lifted the trophy after Megan Cahill scored two first half goals and they controlled the second half to lift the trophy 2-0. Well done to Laura Heffernan, Rianna Jarrett and all the coaches who prepared the team throughout the season and we wish them the best of luck in the Gaynor Cup at the end of June.
