Wexford and District Womens and Schoolgirls League 24-11-2013
Reports by Peter Doyle

Under Ten Premier Division
Curracloe and Kilmore are joint leaders of this division and Ballindaggin are just three points behind after all three recorded wins on Saturday. Curracloe currently look in the strongest position as they have won all four of their games so far as they overcame Campile 3-0 thanks to goals from Keeva Campbell (2) and Grace Harding Kenny. Kilmore travelled to Bunclody and also won 3-0 with Joley Doyle scoring a brace while Melissa Smith also scored. Ballindaggin overcame a tough game away to Courtown Hibs winning 2-1 in a very competitive and entertaining game with Holly Tobin on target for the home side while Niamh Doyle scored both goals for Ballindaggin

Under Ten North Division
The two top teams in this section met on Saturday and after a very close exciting encounter, Moyne Rangers overcame Tombrack United 1-0 to go clear at the top of the table. Erin Carley scored the only goal of a match that provided great entertainment for the sizeable crowd

Under Ten East Division

All Blacks haved edged clear at the top of the table after they overcame Wexford Celtic 4-0 thanks to goals from Aoife Houghton, Zita Tiernan and Cora Sinnott (2). Bridge Rovers and Taghmon United played out a 2-2 draw in Castlebridge with Katie Murphy scoring both goals for home side. Rosslare Rangers proved too strong for Wexford Youths and ran out 8-0 victors with Zoe Butler (3), Bobbie Culleton (2), Tegan Fortune (2) and Eimear O Neill all on target

Under Ten South West Division

New Ross Town travelled to Seaview and played out a scoreless but very entertaining draw and the point was enough to move Town clear at the top of the table. St Leonards travelled to Cloughbawn and an Eabha Cullen hat trick added to goals from Aisling Ryan and Katie Whelan gave them a 5-0 win. Adamstown kept in touch with the leaders after a 2-1 home win over Corach Ramblers thanks to goals from Leah Furlong and Karlina Jaglarz

Under Fourteen Premier Division

Cloughbawn and Kilmore United remain deadlocked at the top of the division after wins over Moyne Rangers and Curracloe respectively. Julie Furlong and Kate Murphy were on target for Cloughbawn as they overcame Moyne 2-1 with Leah Furlong scoring for the Enniscorthy side. Kilmore overcame Curracloe by a solitary goal in a very close game with a Rachel Bennett penalty dividing the teams and it very much likes these two teams are going to battle this division out to the end of the season

Under Fourteen Division One

St Leonards are a point clear at the top of the table after a 1-1 draw with Bridge Rovers. Niamh Kehoe was on target for Rovers while Ciara O Connor scored the vital goal for Leonards. Gorey Rangers proved too strong for a young Seaview side and ran out 9-1 winners thanks to goals from Ciara Hammett (2), Amy Wilson (3), Niamh Taylor Hughes (2), Eabha Cahill and Rebecca Yeates while Emily Dundon scored for Seaview

Under Fourteen Division Two A

All Blacks remain joint leaders after a thrilling 5-4 win over Wexford Celtic with the lead changing hands several times before the home time did enough to take the vital three points. Kijita Kevecko (2), Orla Neiland and Hannah Farrell were all on target for Celtic while Emma Sinnott, Abbie Jones and Emily Coakley (3) all scored for All Blacks. North End are also joint leaders after they comfortably overcame a young Courtown Hibs side with Chelsey Pitman (5), Alanah Anglim (3), Rachel Dempsey (2) and Michelle Carthy (2) all scoring in the 12-0 win.

Under Fourteen Division Two B

New Ross Town are looking unstoppable in this division as they overcame Cloughbawn second team 7-0 to move three points clear at the top of the table. Sandra Murphy (3), Any Walsh (2) and Kate Devereux (2) were all on target for the league leaders. Gorey Celtic and Tombrack United played out a 1-1 draw which keeps them both in contention for second place. Shannon McGovern gave Tombrack the lead while Sarah Lynch was on target for Celtic.

Under Eighteen League

Killenagh are top of the league after making the long journey to Seaview and returning with all three points after a 3-1 win thanks to a Georgina Creane hat trick with Danni Odham on target for the home side. Curracloe United travelled to St Josephs and won 4-0 to stay in contention thanks to a hat trick from Siobhan Doolan and a Noeleen Shanahan goal. North End made it a hat trick of wins for away teams in this division as they travelled to Ballindaggin and came away 4-1 winners thanks to goals from Sara Byrne (2), Chloe Bates and 14 year old Stacey O Farrell.

Womens Premier Division

Benfica LFC     0          Ferns United    2

Ferns came away from Waterford with three points after a tough game away to Benfica and remain top of the table with a one hundred per cent record. After a scoreless first half, the visitors got on top in the second half and goals from Leona Breen and Liz Everedd gave Ferns a valuable victory

Tramore FC     4          Cloughbawn    2

The home side kept their title ambitions alive after this win over Cloughbawn who now have relegation concerns after this defeat and are running out of games to get out of trouble. Elaine Casey and Tara Kennedy were on target for Cloughbawn but two goals each from Niamh Walsh and Vanessa Ogbonna gave the home side their fourth win of the season. The game was delayed for twenty minutes when Cathy Linehan picked up a serious leg injury and all in Wexford soccer wish her a speedy recovery

North End United        4          Coolgreaney Celtic     0

North End moved up to third after this win over an inconsistent Coolgreaney side who are unbeaten at home and have not picked up a point away. The home side were always in control in this game with goals from Fiona Bennett (2), Leanne O Reilly and Nelly Walsh giving them victory

Womens Division One

Killenagh Wan 8          Courtown Hibs 1

The home side remain top of the division after this win over bottom club Courtown Hibs. Bentura Boylan scored for Hibs but hat tricks for Claire Halvey and Leanne Naughter as well as two goals from Sinead Gaynor gave Killenagh the win

Kilmore United            5          Glen Celtic      0

Kilmore remain in contention after this win over Glen Celtic as they picked up their fourth win of the season. Goals from Jazz Redmond, Lisa Goff, Chloe Troy and two from Katrina Parrock proved too much for a battling Celtic side

New Ross Town           4          Corach Ramblers        2

Town won their fifth match of the season and sit just three points behind the leaders after this 4-2 win over a determined Corach Ramblers. Sinead O Connor and Geraldine Curtis were on target for Ramblers but two goals from Sinead Ryan, one from Lina Smitate and an own goal gave Town the points

Womens Division Two A

Bunclody AFC  2          Castledockrell United 4

A four goal second half blitz from Caitriona Murray gave Castledockrell their seventh win of the season and now sit eight points clear at the top of the table. Bunclody had taken a first half 2-0 lead through Nicole Fortune and Celine Slye but the league leaders controlled the second half and recorded their seventh win of the season

Camolin Celtic 7          Forth Celtic     0

The home side remain in contention for promotion after proving too strong for Forth Celtic and running out 7-0 winners. Niamh O Leary (4), Siobhan Finn (2) and Sinead Furlong were all on target for the dominant home side

Taghmon United         1          Shilelagh United          1

The home side remain in second place after this draw with Shilelagh who could find themselves in contention if they can win their games in hand. Ailish Sinnott gave Taghmon a first half lead but a goal from Fiona Byrne in the second half earned Shilelagh a point

Womens Division Two B

St Leonards     0          Fastnet Rovers 0

With five games to go, St Leonards are still in contention for the title despite this scoreless draw with Fastnet Rovers. Both sides produced an exciting encounter with defences dominating and a draw was probably a fair result in the end

Moyne Rangers           3          Crossabeg AFC            1

Moyne have picked up seven points in their last three games to move up to a mid table position after this 3-1 win over Crossabeg. Vanessa O Brien scored for the visitors but goals from Ciara Tobin, Megan O Shea and Kerrie Morrissey gave the home side all three points

Rosslare Strand           3          Cushinstown AFC         1
