Fixtures and Results 09-12-2012

Wexford and District Womens and Schoolgirls League 09-12-2012

Under Ten Premier Division
Curracloe United moved to the top of the table when overcoming Campile United two nil in the only game in this division to be played on Saturday. In a very close exciting match, the  home girls did enough to pip fellow title challengers and head into the new year a point ahead of the Campile girls

Under Ten Division One
Courtown Hibs are unbeaten and top of the division after travelling the short distance to Gorey Celtic and coming away two one winners. Alex Lynch was on target for Celtic but goals from Amy Robertson and Ella Maree gave Hibs their fifth win of the season

Under Ten Division Two A
Shelburne joined St Leonards at the top of the table when they took all three points on their journey to Bridge Rovers with a four one win. Katy Carroll scored for Rovers but a Katy Murphy hat trick and a goal from Fiona Lyng gave the Ballywilliam girls a very important victory. All Blacks and Taghmon United both kept in touch with the leaders after wins over St Josephs and Killenagh Wanderers respectively. All Blacks overcame Joeys six two  with Shannon Doyle, Sarah Cleary, Shauna O Connor, Ciara Murphy and Sarah Hendrick with two all on target for the home side while Rita Redmond scored both goals for the visitors. Taghmon had a much tougher time as they overcame Killenagh three two with Laura Banville scoring a first half hat trick to have the home side in control but goals from Orlagh Holmes and Caoimhe Haugh ensured their were some shaky moments for the Taghmon side before the final whistle

Under Ten Division Two B
Rosslare Rangers played out a one all draw at home to Corach Ramblers to sit joint top of the table with Enniscorthy Town with Emma Wickham scoring for Ramblers. Enniscorthy Town travelled to New Ross Town and won three one with Amy Shannon scoring twice for the visitors with Cassie O Rourke adding one while Elle Nugent scored for the home side

Leinster Under Fourteen Cup First Round
Campile United           1          Mountmellick United  4
The Laois side made the long journey to Campile a worthwhile one when eventually overcoming a brave effort from the home side to progress to the second round four one. Chloe Power was on target for the home side but two goals each from Caoimhe Kenya and Danielle Feane saw Mountmellick through

Under Fourteen Premier Division
Curracloe moved top of the division when proving too strong for Bree and running out five one winners. Kathlyn Furlong scored for Bree but two goals each from Siobhan Doolan and Sarah Siggins plus one goal from Jessie Harding saw Curracloe take all three points. Kilmore United moved second after making the long journey to Killenagh and a Rebecca Furlong hat trick saw them come away three nil victors

Under Fourteen Division One
Probably one of the best games of the season at any age group this season saw Moyne overcome Ballindaggin by a solitary goal and move top of the table. Aideen Byrne scored the only goal of a thrilling end to end match with the home side holding on to take the points. Bunclody are still in contention for the title after a six nil win over second placed Seaview with Britney Conroy scoring a hat trick, Kate Hendrick added two and Chloe Moynihan scored one. The game was scoreless at half time. St Leonards picked up their second win of the season after overcoming bottom club St Josephs three nil in Kilmuckridge. Muireann Kehoe, Linda Bradley and Alex Holden were all on target for the visitors

Under Fourteen Division Two A
North End United and Gorey Celtic remain deadlocked in second place after this one all draw in Drinagh on Saturday. Caragh Clarke scored for Celtic while Holly Sinnott was on target for the North End  as both sides remain well in contention for honours. Bridge Rovers moved to the top of the table as they overcame Rosslare Rangers three one with Shannon Murphy, Hayley Lacey and Finola Monahan all on target for Rovers while Caoimhe Mckeon scoring for Rangers

Under Fourteen Division Two B
Fastnet Rovers made it six wins from six games when travelling to All Blacks and coming away comfortable seven one winners. Emily Coakley was on target for the home side but a hat trick from Rachel Bennett, two goals from her twin sister Annmarie and a goal each from Ellie Diskin and Ciara Moore saw Rovers continue on their march towards the league title. Wexford Celtic moved second after a thrilling three two win over a much improved New Ross Town side with Grainne Ryan scoring both goals for Town while Kate Redmond Browne, Orla Neiland and Kim Stauton were on target for Celtic

Leinster Under Eighteen Cup Quarter Final
Cloughbawn v Ratoath Harps (walkover to Cloughbawn)
Ratoath Harps did not travel for this Leinster Under Eighteen cup game in Cloughbawn and conceded a walkover to the home side who now meet Newtown Rovers in the semi final. Rovers also received a walkover in their quarter final

Under Eighteen League
Ferns moved up to third in the table after they overcame St Leonards in comfortable style as they knocked in eight without reply. Hayley Nolan scored a hat trick while Leona Breen and Gemma Kehoe scored two each and Rita Davitt added one. North End United and Killenagh Wanderers played out an exciting two all draw with Sara Byrne and Katie O Leary on target for the Wexford town side and Sinead Gaynor and Roisin O Connor scoring for the visitors

Womens Premier Division
Benfica            3          Seaview United          1
In a very tight battle against relegation, Benfica collected a very important three points to move away from the bottom two as we head into the Christmas break. Josie Cullen scored for Seaview but goals from Becky Conroy, Keeley Claydon and Sharon Browne gave the Waterford side a vital victory

Coolgreaney Celtic     3          Tramore FC     3
Probably the biggest suprise of the season occured in this match when relegation threatened Coolgreaney held title challengers Tramore to a draw in a very intense goal filled battle. Ann Higgins, Karen O Toole and Sarah Byrne were all on target for the home side with Vanessa Ogbonna, Amy Flynn and Orla Hickey were all on target for Tramore

Womens Division One A
Kilmore United           4          Enniscorthy Town       4
When Kilmore led four one in this match, they must have thought they had done enough to have picked up the points but Town staged a late comeback and levelled in injury team to salvage a draw. Diane Doyle scored two for the home side with Anne Marie Lacey and Chloe Troy also finding the net while Bridget McDonald, Lorna Murphy, Shauna Spratt and Diane Leniston were all on target for the visitors

Killenagh Wanderers  2          Curracloe United        4
Curracloe moved back into the title race after this win away to fellow title challengers Killenagh and as we go into the Christmas break, only three points divide the top six teams in this division. Isobel Naughter and Claire Halvey scored for Wanderers but a Clara Donnelly hat trick and a Noleen Shanahan goal earned Curracloe a vital win

Womens Division One B

Corach Ramblers leapfrogged their opponents into third place after this three one win in Kilmuckridge. Louise Hammell gave the home side the lead but goals from Emma Eustace, Jackie Sinnott and Ciara Roche gave Ramblers victory

Courtown Hibs           7          New Ross Town         1
Hibs moved off the bottom of the table as they completely demolished leaders New Ross Town seven one to throw this division wide open. Anne Carroll scored for Town but four goals from Gillian Synnott, two goals from Donna O Brien and one from Irene Grant gave the home side a vital victory

Womens Division Two A
Taghmon United         0          All Blacks       2
All Blacks recorded their seventh win of the season and wrapped up the division two league title in record time becoming the first club in recent years to win a league title in December in recent years. Goals from Eimear O Brien and Roisin Furlong gave them a two nil win in this match over Taghmon who are one of the teams now in the race for second place.

The home side moved clear in second place after overcoming third place Rosslare Strand by four goals to nil. Megan Murray gave them a one nil half time lead and she added two more in the second half with Orla Furlong scoring five minutes from time to wrap up the victory

Castledockrell won their eight game in a row and moved eight points clear of the division after this two nil win in Campile. Caitriona Murray and Annmarie Foley were on target for the visitors as they move closer and closer to the league title
