Wexford and District Womens and Schoolgirls League 28-10-2012

Under Ten Premier Division
This division promises to be very closely contested with all five teams capable of launching a title challenge. Saturday saw neither game produce a goal despite loads on end to end goalmouth action in both games with Kilmore United and Curracloe United scoreless and Ballindaggin and Moyne Ranagers producing a similar scoreline

Under Ten Division Two A
Shelburne and St Leonards lead the way in this division as both picked up three points on Saturday. Kate Murphy scored all five for Shelburne as they overcame Killenagh five one while Eabha Cullen scored the only goal of the game as St Leonards beat Taghmon. St Josephs proved much too strong for a young Bridge Rovers side as they ran out nine one winners with Aoibhe Manley scoring a consolation for Rovers

Under Ten Division Two B
Enniscorthy Town edged clear at the top of this division as they came away from New Ross Town with a point after a three all draw. Amy Shannon scored two for Town with Cassie O Rourke also finding the net while Ciara Lanaton scored twice for town with Ellie adding one. Adamstown were big winners over Cloughbawn with Maebh Wickham scoring five and Isabelle Morgan Herbert adding a hat trick. Rosslare Rangers made the long journey to Tombrack a worthwhile one as they won four two thanks to two goals each from sisters Aoife and Ciara Rees while Tara Kenny and Abby Walsh were on target for Tombrack

Under Fourteen Premier Division
Bree lead the way with three wins from three games as they overcame Kilmore by two goals to one. Rebecca Furlong scored for Kilmore but goals from Aoife Cloke Rochford and Aideen Byrne saw Bree move into a very strong position at the head of the table. Killenagh picked up their first win of the season when overcoming Cloughbawn four two thanks to a Cailin Fitzpatrick hat trick and a Megan Cahill goal while Hannah Keating and Niamh Higgins on target for Cloughbawn

Under Fourteen Division One
Ballindaggin lead the way in division one after this three nil win over St Leonards with goals from Lauren Finn, Aoife Devereux and Clodagh O Leary. A Britney Conroy hat trick set Bunclody on the way to a six nil win with Kate Hendrick adding two and Kaithlin Murphy also scoring. Moyne Rangers came out on top of a seven goal thriller when winning four three in Seaview with Shauna Kane, Megan Dobbs, Gina Murphy and Abigail Gordon all on target for the Enniscorthy girls. Kayleigh Shannon scored twice for the home side with Jane Ryan also scoring.

Under Fourteen Division Two A
Campile are a point clear after beating North End five two with Grainne Ryan scoring all five for the home side while Kelly Lynch and Alannah Anglim were on target for the Wexford two side. Rathnure United proved too strong for Rosslare Rangers running out six one winners while Bridge Rovers and Gorey Celtic played out a one all draw

Under Fourteen Division Two B
Fastnet Rovers made it three wins from three as they overcame Enniscorthy Town by seven goals to two while New Ross Town travelled to Tombrack and came away seven nil winners. Ciara Rossiter and Katie Bergin were on target for Wexford Celtic but four goals from prolific goal scorer Emily Coakley gave All Blacks the three points

Under Eighteen League
Seaview United made it two wins from two games as they overcame North End United three nil to move to the top of the under eighteen league thanks to two Eimear Mullan goals and one from Fiona Rowe. Ferns travelled to St Leonards and opened their league campaign with a six one win

Womens Premier Division
Adamstown    0          Benfica            7
Benfica travelled to Newbawn and collected their first three points of the season as they ran out comfortable seven nil winners. Kerry Rochford, Becky Conroy and Nicola Foley all scored two goals each with Sharon Browne also on target

Womens Division One A
Kilmore United           4          Curracloe United        4
These two sides played out a thrilling four all draw with the lead changing hands on several occassions before a last gasp equaliser earned Curracloe a point. Two goals from Katrina Parrock and one each from Jasmine Redmond and Lisa Goff made up the home side tally while Amy Banville scored a hat trick for Curracloe with a deflected own goal making up the total

Womens Division One B
Fastnet Rovers                        0          St Josephs       6
St Josephs travelled to Fastnet and came away with all three points after a comfortable six nil win. Becky Hayden, Aine Roche, Pamela Walsh, Aoife Kavanagh, Tracy McCormack and Georgia Warren were all on target for the Kilmuckridge side

Womens Division Two A
Tombrack United        0          Cloughbawn B            2
Cloughbawn travelled to Tombrack and came away with all three points thanks to goals from Tina Cullen and Joanne Kennedy to give them their second win of the season.

All Blacks       2          Taghmon United         1
All Blacks moved six points clear at the top of the division after this two one win over Taghmon giving them five wins from five games. Sarah Banville scored for the visitors with Roisin Furlong and Tina Colloton on target for the home side

Womens Division Two B
Crossabeg        0          Cushinstown               5
Cushinstown made history on Sunday when picking up their first win since joining the league when travelling to Crossabeg and winning five nil. Pamela Cummins scored a hat trick while Amy Gaffney scored twice

Wexford Youth Women play Saturday evening
Wexford Youths Women play their first home game under lights when they entertain Castlebar Celtic next Saturday evening at seven o clock in Ferrycarrig Park. This promises to be a great occasion for the womens team and will give supporters a great opportunity to come and support the girls. The home side will be content with their start to the season having picked up two wins and a draw in their opening four games and currently sit fourth in the table. Supporters of the women soccer who would usually be unable to attend due to being committed to their own clubs on a Sunday can take the chance to come see the game being played at the highest level in the country.

A young Bunclody side were no match for an experienced Kilmore who will have ambitions this season of challenging for the league title. The visitors were always in control and ran out comfortable eight nil winners

Fastnet Rovers            0          Ballindaggin    3
Ballindaggin opened their campaign with a win as they overcame Fastnet Rovers three nil thanks to goals from Nicola Ryan, Niamh Finn and Niamh McHugh

Under Twelve Division One
North End United       0          Campile United           5
Campile moved to the top of division one after this five nil win away to North End. Eadaoin Kent scored twice with Elena Kenny, Kate Foley and Kathryn Dempsey all adding a goal each.

Moyne Rangers           4          Gorey Celtic    6
Gorey came out on top in this exciting ten goal thriller away to Moyne. Anais Curran, Eimear Byrne, Faye Larkin and Paige Mitchell were all on target for the home side but two goals from Cara Clarke and one each from Ciara Hammett, Hannah Keegan, Kelly Brennan and Gina Lynch gave Celtic all three points

Under Twelve Division Two A
Seaview United          4          Bridge Rovers 0
A Libby Sutton hat trick set the home side well on the way to victory and a further goal from Strom Eaton saw Seaview take all three points against a battling Bridge Rovers side

St Leonards     3          Wexford Celtic           3
Both these sides had to settle for a point each after a six goal thriller. Two goals from Ciara Bridges and one from Niamh Tormley made up the Celtic tally while two goals from Fiona Ryan and one from Eimear Gabbett ensured St Leonards got a share of the points

Killenagh Wan            1          Shelburne        4
Erika Bates was on target for the home side but it was not enough against a rejuvenated Shelburne side who scored through Brid Madigan, Rebecca Delaney, Ella Lyng and Christina Barron to take all three points

Under Twelve Division Two B

An Amy Mitten hat trick was enough to give the home side all three points in this entertaining under twelve encounter

Forth Celtic     0          New Ross Town         5
Jenny Canning scored four goals as Town travelled to Forth Celtic and took all three points with Claire Doyle also on target in this five nil win

Corach Ramblers         4          Courtown Hibs           0
The home side are already looking very impressive in this division as they overcame a very good Courtown side with four goals to spare. Shannon Anglim, Rachel Crosbie, Niamh Miller and Siding Waters were all on target for Corach

Under Twelve Division Three
Enniscorthy Town       0          Tombrack United        4
Tombrack took all three points in this game that was closer than the scoreline suggests but two goals each from Leanne Kenny and Shauna McGovern gave the visitors all three points against a young Enniscorthy Town

Adamstown    8          Campile United B       2
Six goals from Jasmine Martin and two from Maebh Wickham gave Adamstown a comfortable win over a young Campile second string

Cloughbawn    6          Camolin Celtic            2
Aine Byrne was on target twice for Camolin but it was not enough against a home side who scored four through Tara Doyle and one each from Katie Foley and Caitlin Blackburn to take all three points

Under Sixteen Premier Division
Killenagh Wan            5          Seaview United          1
Seaview scored through Danielle Odham but a very good Killenagh performance saw them run out five one winners courtesy of two goals each from Tara Doyle and Sinead Gaynor and one each from Cailin Fitzpatrick

Curracloe United        3          Forth Celtic     4
Forth Celtic took all three points when overcoming title favourites Curracloe by the odd goal in seven. Roisin Doolan, Siobhan Doolan and Lauren Fitzgerald were all on target for the home side but two goals from Amy Fox and one each from Rachel Kehoe and Amy Rochford gave Celtic victory

Bree travelled to Rathnure and took all three points with a comfortable five one victory

Kilmore United           4          St Josephs       2
St Josephs raced into an early two nil thanks to two goals from Molly Carton but Kilmore showed great character and goals from Megan Benson, Rebecca Furlong and two from Cora Miller saw them come back to win four two

Bunclody AFC           0          Ballindaggin    3
Ballindaggin made it a good day for the club when taking all three points in this under sixteen game in Bunclody. Sinead Nolan, Eimear Redmond and Rachel Casey all scored to give the visitors three points

Under Sixteen Division Two
Bridge Rovers 0          Tombrack United        1
A very closely contested encounter saw Tombrack do enough to eventually take all three points when Denise Bolger scored the only goal of the game

Womens Premier Division
Ferns United   9          Cloughbawn    2
The home side made it four wins from four games as they overcame Cloughbawn in comfortable fashion to remain joint top of the table with Tramore. Their task was aided when the visitors keeper was sent off after just ten minutes for a professional foul but hat tricks from Liz Everedd and Georgina Moore and a goal each from Gemma Kehoe, Rachel Collier and Leona Breen had the home side well in control. Kate Cullen and Gina Foley were on target for Cloughbawn

Tramore FC     5          Coolgreaney Celtic     1
Coolgreaney put in one of their best performances to date when travelling to Tramore and going down five one to the unbeaten joint leaders. Karen Morris scored for Celtic but two goals from Orla Hickey and one each from Niamh Walsh, Vanessa Ogbonna and Leanne Clancy gave the home side all three points

Womens Division One A

Celtic picked up their second win of the season and stay in touch with the top of the table where only one point currently divides the top five. This game was very close but the home side eventually did enough to take victory

This game came to a premature end ten minutes before half time when experienced defender Angie Breen sustained a serious ankle injury that required hospitalisation and the game was subsequently abandoned. Everyone in womens soccer wish Angie a speedy recovery

Both these sides were looking for their first win before this game and both still are after this two all draw. Vicky Larkin and Lauren Ramsey were on target for Hibs while Nicole Fortune and an own goal saw Bunclody collect a point.

A very close match which was dominated by defences and saw a solitary goal scored by Aine Hayes early in the second half divide the teams. Both sides are still well in contention in a very tight division where a glut of teams are piling in behind leaders New Ross Town in the chase for promotion

Annie Breen and Susan Pierce was both on target for Fastnet but it was not enough as two goals each from Ciara Roche and Jackie Sinnott gave Ramblers their second win of the season

Tara Sommers and Joanne Kennedy were both on target for the home side but it was not enough as All Blacks knocked in eight to remain top of the table with four wins from four games

Rosslare Rangers moved second in the table after this win over Moyne with Shannon O Brien scoring two and Sinead O Byrne also on target for the home side while Karen Rossiter scored for the visitors

Strand kept in touch with the leaders after this three nil win away to Cushinstown to pick up their second win of the season

The home side continue to lead the way after this win at home to fellow challengers Bree thanks to two goals from Caitriona Murray and one from Ellen Kelly. Mary O Gorman was on target for the visitors

A Megan Murray hat trick set Camolin well on the way to victory over Campile, moving them into second place behind Castledockrell. Niamh O Leary scored two with Amanda Murphy and Miriam Smyth adding a goal each in the seven nil win
