Etchingham Cup Final
New Ross Town         4          All Blacks       1
After clinching the league title last Sunday, New Ross Town completed the league and cup double when overcoming All Blacks in sunny Curracloe on Sunday afternoon. Town got off to a great start when Jenny Delaney scored a free kick early in the game and despite All Blacks best efforts to get back into the game, they were unable to break down the New Ross defence and their task became more difficult when Anne Carroll doubled the lead just before half time. A goal early in the second half from Lina Smitate had the game over as a contest although Tanya O Brien did pull a goal back for a battling All Blacks side who showed their grit and determination and never gave up. However, Lina Smitate scored her second goal with fifteen minutes remaining and effectively wrapped up the match for her side. Despite the scoreline, the game was closely contested and All Blacks did create chances but the difference between the sides was New Ross Towns ability to take their opportunities in front of goal. League Chairman Daire Doyle presented the winning team with their cup, complimenting both sides on an excellent game as Towns day was made even better when Anne Carroll was announced as player of the match

Boland Carpets Cup Final
Wexford Celtic           3          Courtown Hibs           0
Holders Wexford Celtic retained the Boland Carpets Cup after overcoming a brave effort from Courtown Hibs who contested well but did not take their chances in front of goal. Played in ideal conditions in Curracloe, both sides served up an entertaining encounter in front of a sizeable crowd but it was Celtic who always looked likely to score first and were rewarded when Lorraine McMahon put them in front. Hibs pressed forward in search of an equaliser and went close on a number of occasions but Celtic held on to lead one nil at half time. The second half continued as the first had ended but it was the Wexford town side who got the break when Rebecca O Connor doubled their advantage with a well taken goal on sixty five minutes. To their credit, Courtown upped their attempts to get back in the game but a second goal from Lorraine McMahon put the game out of their reach and Celtic ran out the game as three nil winners and held on the cup for the second year. League chairman presented the player of the match award to double goal scorer Lorraine McMahon before presenting the cup to the victorious captain

The league would like to thank Curracloe for the use of their excellent facilities which were in prime condition on the day and also thanks to all three officials John Carton, Andrew Nolan and Nicky Harte for officiating at both matches
