Two goals for Ciara Doyle had Killenagh two nil ahead and looked to be heading for a comfortable three points. However, two goals in a minute from Laura Butler rescued an important point for the home side

The seasiders kept their title challenge alive with a comprehensive eight nil win over a young Bunclody side. Sarah Siggins was on target with a personal tally of five to add to goals from Michaela Lannigan, Ailish Neville and Sarah O Brien

The Ballywilliam girls picked up their fifth win of the season when proving too strong for bottom club Campile United and knocking in seven without reply. Hannah Keating and Eva Boland scored two each to add to goals from Kate Murphy, Kelly O Rourke and Eimear Murtagh

A goal just five minutes into the match by Kira Bates Crosbie was enough to move her side to the top of the table. Both sides created chances but defences held firm and the home side held on for the three points

North End picked up their first win of the season when overcoming the home side three one. Alanah Anglin scored twice for the Wexford girls with Elaine O Sullivan adding one while Becky Walsh scored for Moyne

In a very competitive division, Taghmon moved second after coming away from Seaview with three points in a closer game than the scoreline suggests. Emma Clarke scored twice for the visitors with Michelle Carthy also finding the net for the winners

Adamstown 3 Corach Ramblers 5
Corach Ramblers lead the way in this division after this win over a rapidly improving Adamstown side
Tombrack United 0 New Ross Town 1
New Ross Town did just enough to keep in contact with the leaders after just getting out of Tombrack with a single goal victory. Amy Walsh scored the only goal of a very closely contested encounter
Shelbourne B 1 Bridge Rovers 1
These two sides remain level in mid table after this one all draw in Ballywilliam with Chloe Merrigan scoring for Shelbourne and Frankie Moody scoring for Rovers

Wexford Celtic 3 Rathnure United 1
The home side joined their oponents at the top of the table after this three one win. Orlaith Neelan scored twice to add to a goal from Niamh Tormey. Nora Higgins pulled one back for the visitors with a goal in the second half

St Josephs 0 Ferns United 0
Both these sides played out a very exciting scoreless draw where both defences dominated and both sides had to settle for a point each. In a very competitive division, these points could prove to be valuable in the quest against relegation
North End United 1 Shelbourne 1
Shelbourne remain top of the premier division after this hard earned one all draw in Wexford. Jessica Beary put the home side ahead in the first half but a second half goal from Kate Cullen gave the league leaders a point

St Leonards 1 Seaview United 0
A Sinead Egan goal midway through the second half gave St Leonards their sixth win of the season and keeps them clear at the top of the table. Seaview did battle hard for at least a point but found the home defence difficult to break down
Forth Celtic 1 Killenagh Wan 1
Both these sides are well in contention for the title but cancelled each other out in this match as they drew one all. Chloe Fox was on target for Celtic while Megan Cahill scored for the visitors
Bree United v Bunclody AFC
Bree collected a comfortable three points when Bunclody were unable to field a team and had to concede a walkover

Ballindaggin 0 Tombrack United 4
Tombrack kept alive their title chances when proving too strong for leaders Ballindaggin and running out four nil winners. One goal each from Lisa Bolger and Rachel Creane as well as two from Georgina Creane gave the visitors a vital three points
All Blacks v Rosslare Rangers
Rosslare Rngers withdrew their under sixteen team from the league so their game with All Blacks game was called off and points awarded to all other teams in the division
Womens Premier Division
Ferns United 5 Curracloe United 2
The home side continued their recent good form and moved into second place, keeping the pressure on leaders Tramore after they overcame a battling performance. Leona Breen scored a hat trick for Ferns to add to goals from Liz Everedd and Josie Dwyer while Laura Corrigan and Aisling Kehoe were on target for Curracloe
Tramore FC 3 Benfica 1
Leaders Tramore bounced back from last weeks defeat to Ferns although they had to work very hard to overcome bottom club Benfica in the second of this seasons Waterford derbies. Jenny Simpson was on target for the away side but goals from Niamh Walsh, Orla Hickey and Eimear Fennell ensured the home side ended 2011 at the top of the table
Womens Division One A
Enniscorthy Town 0 St Josephs 1
Bottom club St Josephs caused a major upset in this division when travelling to second placed Enniscorthy Town and came away with all three points. The home side have collapsed of late but this defeat has probably killed off their title hopes with Stephanie Gahan scoring the only goal of the game
North End United 3 Coolgreaney Celtic 2
Two goals from Natalie Cushe looked to have wrapped up the points for Coolgreaney who would have become serious contenders for promotion if they could have held on. However a hat trick from Leanne O Reilly in the final ten minutes gave North End an unlikely victory and an outside chance of promotion
Forth Celtic 1 Shelbourne 4
With other results going their way and Shelbourne winning this match, they are unbelievably only one win away from winning the league title. They did what they needed to do against a very determined home side who scored through Trish Gahan but goals from Gina Foley, Lucy Sherwin, Marcella Cullen and Angie Westnott gave them a vital three points

Shilelagh United 2 Courtown Hibs 0
The home side kept alive their title ambitions with this win over Courtown Hibs and are ready to slot back into the title race should leaders Wexford Celtic slip up. Fiona Byrne and Noreen Lambert were both on target against a battling visiting side

Glen Celtic also remain in the hunt for promotion after they accounted for Tombrack on a three nil scoreline. Laura Dagger, Charlene Breen and Siobhan Nolan were all on target for Celtic despite the best efforts of a battling Tombrack side

New Ross Celtic 4 Rosslare Rangers 1
Celtic moved joint top of the division when four goals from Rosie Bennett gave them a comfortable win over Rosslare Rangers who scored through Bobbi Doyle
Taghmon United 1 New Ross Town 5
A hat trick from Kelly Keating to add to goals from Ann Carroll and Simone Lyons has Town joint top of the table with neighbours Celtic as they overcame Taghmon five one. Gemma Doran was on target for the home side
Womens Division Two B
Cloughbawn 1 Rosslare Strand 1
Both these sides are still in contention for honours after this highly entertaining one all draw. Niamh White have Strand the lead but a second half goal from Edel Dillon brought the sides level and no further goals saw them take a point each
Campile United 1 Bree United 4
Bree picked up their third win of the season when travelling to Campile and coming away with the points in a four one win. Melissa Doyle was on target for the home side but two goals Kate Murphy and one each from Marina Butler and Mary Gorman gave Bree victory.

A unified performance from Wexford saw them overcome a disjointed Cork side who were unable for the attacking prowess of the visitors who were full value for their win. Cork started the better and keeper Charlotte McCormack had to be sharp to make two fine saves from Susan Donovan and Senior Irish international Denise O Sullivan. Once that storm was weathered, Wexford took hold of the game and on their first serious attack, they were awarded a corner which was floated in by Maria Delahunty and headed to the net by Kylie Murphy. Over their previous games, Wexford had a reputation for conceding simple corners but in this match, the shoe was on the other foot as they won corner after corner, all well taken by Delahunty with Rianna Jarrett, Jessica Gleeson and Ciara O Brien all going close. The unity of the team became more and more obvious as the game moved into second half with the team defending strongly and attacking well as a unit. Leading only one nil at half time, Wexford needed another goal to wrap up the victory and Rianna Jarrett almost secured that when she got her head to a Linda Douglas cross which was well saved by Cork keeper Rachel Mullins. The home side brought on Claire Shine at half time and the Under Seventeen international did cause some problems as she used her speed and power to torment the Wexford defence. Jessica Gleeson was probably enjoying her best performance in a Wexford Youths jersey and was well supported by the dependable Trish Cleary while Claire Conlon worked hard at left back. Linda Douglas was using her speed to push forward from right back and it was from one of these runs that the second goal came when she whipped in a cross which was met perfectly by Rianna Jarrett who headed to the back of the net. Brianne O Connor made her debut shortly after when replacing Sadie Murphy who had worked tirelessly for the hour she was on the pitch. Cork did enjoy a period of sustained pressure as they battled hard to get back into the game but found the Wexford midfield of Kylie Murphy, Nikki Dunphy and Ciara O Brien snapping at their heels at every opportunity. Manager John Flood brought on Celine Slye for the tiring Claire Conlon with eight minutes remaining and Keeley Clayden replaced Rianna Jarrett minutes later as Wexford kept control to the final whistle. This win was testament to the hard work being put in by the players in the last four months and after last weeks unlucky defeat to Raheny United, this win was well deserved. The experienced Marie Curtin worked hard in the defence for the home side while Jenny Critchley and Lyndsey Mackey always looked the most dangerous up front. For Wexford, Jessica Gleeson, Linda Douglas and Charlotte McCormack all stood out in what was undoubtably the teams best performance to date. There is no doubt manager John Flood and his management team of Billy Donnelly, Bobby Murphy and Lizzie Kent will enjoy their xmas break and coaches Jack Stafford, William Doyle, Tom Elmes and Dylan Mernagh will work on some tough training drills to get the team ready for their next match which is at home to Cork Women FC in Ferrycarrig Park on Sunday January 15th.

The league is now closing down the Christmas and New Year break and would like to take this opportunity to wish all our members a very Merry Christmas and Peaceful 2012.
